Maybe they are mad that they didn't get a reporter NPC this time around.
I think they're mad because Bioware probably didn't pay them any money. IGN dishes out 10/10 depending on how much money they receive >.>.

And i say i saw a UFO today now what?
The Internet has the strange and sometimes dangerous effect that we loose focus on what is going on..
One! random guy says something... its called opinion..
DA2 got a Metacritic Score of 82.. does everyone of you feel that it deserved that score?, some of you might , some of you might not
all valid opinions
We draw conclusions way too early

Metacritic reviewers score is useless.
Show me a triple A title with a score lower than 75.
For some reason, most today's 'professional reviewers' think that 7/10 means a terrible game.
User's score can, on the other hand, at least show you how the game was received by the fanbase. While not a perfect indication of game's quality, it's still better than reviewers' score.

See, when an IGN reviewer says something isn't 'fantastic, 9/10' my first thought is, 'Oh, so the developer didn't pay you enough, huh?'. I suggest you ignore what IGN and Gamespot say; you're better off relying on the Escapist or other trustworthy sources.

Does the reviewer mean the story or the plot? Bioware's plots have never ever been that great. The strength in a Bioware games lies in the characters, the dialogue and Bioware's ability to spin a yarn of a tale. After seeing the full 1 hour gameplay twitch stream on youtube, I'll agree that the plot maybe is not the best one. But the dialogue and that characters are. And it acts a great gateway into the story that neither Cassandra nor the Inquistor herself (or himself) can remember what happened during that fateful meeting in the Temple of Andraste. Bioware this way forces you to press on with the story....to discover what really did happen.

Meh, I'll probably still enjoy it. But then again, looking at some (annoying) posts on the internet, I'm easily impressed.

Most gamers think anything below 8.5 means it's a terrible game too...

It's funny that Bioware bother to a story into a game and it ends up getting critiqued on it losing rating points. I read countless reviews of other games that don't even have a story, or even a very poor one and the story is never mentioned in the review. Take Skyrim for example, great game with no real story, 95/100 wtf not one reviewer came out said, it had a weak plot or no plot. I guess the bar is set higher for Bioware games which make the score of 88 quite impressive.
onside note, i put 100 hours into skyrim and still play it, but i have never finished the main story. Every Bioware game i have purchased, BG1, BG2, IWD, DA, DAII, ME 1,2 & 3 i have finished, they get what i want in a game and boredom with their stories has never been a factor for me.

It does seem strange that that's how it works- Dragon Age:Inquisition's story is likely better than Skyrim, but DA:I is penalized more for story because Bioware is expected to have story and Bethesda isn't?

Different ethos. Bioware tells you a story. Bethesda makes you a world that tells a story, but you have to piece it together yourself.

Thats the Point... tbh the overarching Plot was never what made Bioware games so great.. as you said dialogue and characters make it rememberable.
and on this end Bioware never fails... they do have areas where they may have struggled but never Characters and dialogue
Origins Plot was standard Fantasy Tolkien Inspired stuff
DA2 had an interesting premise but was nothing to write home about.. Mages vs Templars... yeah..
The Overarching Plot in Fantasy is never that complex
even Tolkien can be summed up easily

Who cares?
Even if one reviewer did not like the game, I read several reviews (at least half a dozen) yesterday. I intentionally varied my picks of reviews to cover as broad a spectrum of sources as possible, and based upon what I read I see nothing to sweat over A SINGLE ADDITIONAL REVIEW that breaks ranks with the overall praise that I read everywhere else.
I could not care less what someone named Incognito thinks, and that troll can vanish back under the base boards for all that I care!

But some reviewers have claimed that the open world of DA:I also allows you to create your own narrative.
I feel like if Bethesda came out with DA:I, they would be lauded for still having open world elements while having a better plot, actual companions etc.
