How about...instead of worrying who says bad or who is one giving praise...I suggest take game, play it for yourself and make impression!
And Voila
you get most trusted and reliable resource...yourself.

Jason Schreier:
I think both are great. The combat isn't as heavy on strategy as, say, Baldur's Gate II, but tactical mode is designed really well (despite some jankiness) and it's really fun to use. And the story, like most good stories, is more about smaller threads and character interactions than it is about some big epic twisting narrative.
And Dawg responding:
I agree with Jason. I think this game has some of the best BioWare character interactions in a while. I feel like there are more, interesting personal quests and the romance quest has been changed a little too. The main story might not be earth shattering, but it's decent enough. Combined with the "world story" and sidecontent, there's a lot of good stuff.

blahh I'm not sure why people take IGN seriously
some of the reviewers there are laughable they said COD: Advanced Warfare has an awesome story and gave it a freaking 9
its ridiculous because its bascially the same 5 hours of explosions over and over again
I'm sure there are some valid points regarding DA:I story like again its about saving the world etc. but I don't have a problem with that its all about the side conflicts (orlesian civil war, conclusion to Mage-Templar war etc.) and the interesting companions that make the game for me
Story is not Bioware's strong point. Their games are character-driven not story-driven. Their plots are almost always weak. This doesn't bother me if it turns out true as long as the characters are good.
Never listen to others' opinions. Trust only your own.

Sounds dangerously borderline like an opinion to me. I ain´t listening.
The guy that wonders why so many speak with a French accent?
And half a second later says that he knows that Orlais is based on France.
He was making a joking comparison, between AC Unity (which takes place in France) and DA:I, saying that half of characters in Dragon Age have French accent, while none in Unity have
.
Well, they also said CoD Advanced Warfare is a 9.1 while DAI is only 8.8.
Plus, they're bunch of sell outs and give out the highest rating to the game who's publisher pay them the highest.
Sounds dangerously borderline like an opinion to me. I ain´t listening.
Then you're doing it right.
The Overarching Plot in Fantasy is never that complex
Okay, quickly summarize any Gene Wolfe novel for me then.
I saw the review but felt that it was unfair to say the story is poor and you are often meandering from the main plot, something a few reviewers have also commented on as well.
Those criticisms strike me as somewhat ironic, as those same reviews constantly praise Origins and yet, when you get down to it, wasn't most of Origins spent doing various fetch-quests for people to get them to enforce the treaties, rather than actually fighting the Darkspawn. Sure, the treaties tied into the main plot, but isn't our task of "How to gain friends and influence people" the exact same thing, as it allows us to find the cause of and get enough power to be able to shut down the Breach?
The real problem seems to be that people are unfairly comparing this game to Origins and putting the first game on a pedestal. That's not to say that Origins was not a great game, but I think people's fond memories of it colours their memory of some of the bugs, some of the technical limitations, some of the minor plot holes and some parts of the game that were just a slog to get through?
Here's a quote I like, from Patrick Swayze in Ghost:
"Molly, the "New York Times" is some frustrated little critic with pimples on his ass who flunked out of art school. Who cares what the New York Times says."
I don't listen to people who are getting paid to complain about games, movies, or whatever else. Especially IGN. I don't remember who said it, but an actor said "If one person likes a movie, then it was worth it." I'll be the judge of DA:I, but thanks for the thought.
My moms sisters uncles daughters boyfriends dogs owner said the same, im really not impressed
Wait, your moms sisters uncles daughters boyfriends dogs owner is Vincent Ingenito? He's my dads brothers aunts sons girlfriends cats owner. Huh, small world.
IGN?
You know what's the only thing I ever have to say about IGN? "You can't spell ignorant without it."
He could be an anomaly, i mean it seems that IGN has an issue with story in any kind of game. Marty Sliva said that AC:U has a pretty poor story as well. DO these IGN staffers know story when they see it?
I agree with the AC:U poor story, but DA:I poor? IDK what to feel. I'm still getting DA:I I've waited a long time for this and it's not like AC which has become repetitive over the years. I mean they took eagle vision and added a cool down to it and acted like it's a new feature. You could of add more features to it without the cool down. They are running out of ideas over there, but this is Bioware!
I sure hope he's wrong who ever he is...
Okay, here's a test. Name this video game:
An unlikely hero suffers a tragic event, only to find that they are the one person that can rise above all challenges to push back the imposing threat that endangers the entirety of civilization as they know it.

Didn't IGN say that COD:AW has a great story? ![]()
See? They liked one!

I'm pretty sure IGN couldn't tell a narrative from a story if their lifes depended on it.
Basically, anything a reviewer says is not perfect must therefore be BAD, and we should panic and make a concerned thread about it on the forum.
Because that will help. ![]()
They should of had the girl who reviewed DA2 review DAI for IGN but I don't think she still works there ![]()
well german magazines said basically the same. (gamestar and pcgames)
the bad stuff about origins:
-short and not that good main story, that needs at max 35 hours to play through (not 50^^)
-boring companions only one is interesting
-bad pc controls
-even on higher difficulties, tactical gameplay is only needed against the dragons ( so the tactical view is obsolete)
-not that good technical performance (i7(newer generation) and 4gb vram needed for a good performance at highest level)
Gamestar:85% and pcgames: not yet rated
