Sorry if this topic has been posted already. They state it was the corpse of a genetically engineered starship. The prevailing theory is that the Leviathan was actually Sovereign. If this is true, wouldn't that mean that the reapers are actually more organic then synthetic, or at least 50/50. Because everyone, including the characters in the game, refer to them as machines. There's no way in hell the Leviathan is a Reaper. It's at best a wreck from one of the civilizations destroyed by the Reapers... or Moya.

Isnt there a planet with a Volus Billionare looking for remains of an ancient species created to defend organics from "machine devils"?

What's Moya? And by the way, how are you so sure it's not a reaper?

Moya is a living ship from Farscape

and

In Mass Effect Revelations it is stated that Sovereign was discovered orbiting around a planet near the Perseus veil. The leviathan was discovered on a planet and is public knowledge. Sovereign was always a secret, a big space cuttlefish secret.

It was just the description on a planet, I don't know if they are connected or just random lore tossed in by Bioware.

One can only hope it's not... Hm, maybe it was a Collector ship, the ones in the trailers look organic enough.

*MASSIVE SPOILER*

This ship actually plays a large (get it?) role in the main story line of ME2. It's also where you find Legion. It is indeed a reaper, by the way.

It's not a particularly big spoiler, you're shown you recruit (well, actually, you're only shown meeting him there) Legion from a derelict Reaper in one of the official trailers, but that particular Reaper looked extremely mechanical.

The Leviathan of Dis is a Farscape reference.

In that universe there were large, sentient creatures called Leviathans that served as starships. Mass Effect takes a lot of cues from Farscape, among other influences and it's a nice tip of the hat to the show by the BioWare crew.

Leviathans were docile, peaceful creatures that grew to immense sizes, were capable of FTL intergalactic travel and would grow to accomodate thier crews. As mentioned earlier, Moya was the primary Leviathan in the show, however she had a son named Talyn that was genetically engineered into the first Leviathan gunship.

I'm from Europe too, and I'm likely getting my game later than you. It's not a spoiler, since it was in an official trailer.

That was one of the few episodes later in the series which made any sense whatsoever. Honestly, the only SF I comprehended less than the second and third seasons of Farscape was Lexx. Which was basically a series of mostly nonsensical mishaps.

Nah...it's all rubbish. The spoilers aren't true. They are playing with you. The Leviathan is just a dragon. Hmm...a space dragon. Hmm...a space-bat-angel-dragon. That crashed.
