I remember a long time ago when I was playing Dragon Age Origins that I ran into this guy in Denerim as a rogue. I believe he doesn't appear when you are mage or warrior. At times I wasn't sure why I was doing his side quests but I think he said he was helping the Chantry.

Do you think that helping him commit this crime wave would have any effects in Dragon Age Inquisition?

He appeared in my playthrough before my current one as a mage.  This one though he never showed.  :(

Nah, it gave the Warden a title as the best thief in the land, but no one knows it was the Warden

You can do the quests as a warrior, you just need to have the stealing skill. Not sure if it helps the inquisition.

One person can know your identity(apart from your companions). Some people refer to the Warden as the Dark Wolf during later heists. In Awakening you meet a person impersonating as the Dark Wolf. You can tell him that you are the Dark Wolf, to which he will be surprised.

It's just makes me wonder because it is there. So I wonder if The Darkwolf jokes will be present in Dragon Age Inquisition

I hope so personally, my Warden took them Tears of Andraste and it would be cool if that was referred to somehow

It should show up even to mages and warriors, if they have spent at least one point in the "steal" talent.

At that time my Warden was a Magi, so I didn't have any use for such "steal" and never started the quest line.
I wouldn't have liked to steal anyways; that's just bringing meaningless chaos in chaotic times.

It's not just steal but having a point in stealth also works, otherwise he won't show for rogues either (if for some odd reason your rogue had no stealth skill)

I don't think the crime wave itself will have an impact but what happens at the end, Andraste's tears seems rather important.
