I know Mike said this from the beginning, but I also know it's a big deal for some so I thought it was worthwhile to have it straight from a reviewer's mouth:

It must be when Hawke is introduced as we've seen the beginning of the game.

Honestly there would be no other place to do so unless under one of those two circumstances. Since Keep is just for "story" related decisions they would have to shoe horn his/her creation somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a great big shadow on the ground and up pops the character creation to the boogity beat.
Yeah, I'm really interested to see how they handle Hawke's customization and when it comes up. Perhaps the camera slowly pans up and the character creator pops up just before it reaches his/her face? Or they could remove a helmet and as the helmet comes off, it could stylishly cut to the CC. Or something?

That is very good news. I was beginning to be afraid that, for some reason, we would have to go with the default Hawke appearance and that it would be retconned as just another embellishment of the story by Varric. Like Cassandra would say "That's not how you described him/her in your story, Varric" and Varric would respond something like "I may have taken a liberty or two...".
So YAY my Hawkes will come back in force!

I was a little concerned when they removed the "Hawke appearance" tile in the Keep; good to know!

Given that we've known the identities of the nine companions for ages and not a single review has hinted at a hidden tenth, I'm going with no.

EXTREME side note, but I just noticed that other spoiler in that spoiler. I mean, I kind of expected it based on choices, but wow.
Anyway, am I the only one who doesn't really mind Hawke's default look for this game? I mean, I customized my own and I'll customize him again in DAI, but he just looks world weary now, older, burnt-out.
I'd been wondering if that would be the case. After all, I imagine a lot of us are rather attached to our specific Hawkes--I know I am (even if I didn't like much else in DA2 aside from Hawke, Varric, and Merrill ). Plus any excuse to use CC twice in one game is good in my books.
