There is a fail ending I believe? The demons win?
Yeah, the devs said there's an ending where the demons win.
From the Raptr Q&A:
Q: Will the demons be able to win?
A: Yes but that would suck (MD)

Varric spoilers.
Spoiler
Remember the prologue
Oh boy the fail demon ending sure must suck and knowing bioware its going to be tragic. Considering such horrible things can happen to your companions I would be surprised if bioware did not add one. Now making the right choices to lead the inquisition victory is waaay more important now.

Though is this confirmed or just a theory? I mean, it fits. But I don't want to start hoping.
OP of that thread did not post any videos or images that supported his claim (or did he state he played the game).
Any other spoilers from 4chan?
Lots of them but I'll post them in the other thread here because the rumors are not about Solas.

4chan isn't really a solid source but I'm not sure what the point of making some of that stuff up is. So basically still up in the air.
Yes! This is a good way to describe the kind of rumors you find on 4chan, Jellobell.

I actually didn't hear that part clearly. It does seem more likely with that in mind.

Oh hey. Does this look like our "evil Solas" to anyone else?
His serious face is pretty malevolent looking. I want to pinch his cheeks and tell him to stop looking like he's going to eat babies.

Someone in the actual Solas thread confirmed that he did in fact cause the breach? (unintentionally) Or did they just get that from somewhere and run with it? Has this become a giant game of chinese whispers? If it's true, what worries me is how everyone else will react to that, look what happened to Anders? I'm an Andersmancer, I'm sorry...I never kill him, and I hate how hated he is, I don't want that for Solas too
I completely agree with everything you just said, and for the exact same reasons. ![]()

I'm going to feel like a massive hypocrite, because I always end up killing Anders (sorry Andersmancers! D:) but feel like I'm going to have a struggle on what to do with Solas' fate, if true.
I got confirmation that Solas is indeed the traitor, but didn't get any details on him causing the breach, etc.

If the rumors are true, it really depends on how the situation is set up. It being a mistake may help things. Anders knew exactly what he was doing with the Chantry. Solas trying to set things right rather than claiming his actions were right might help.
People inclined to hate mages will hate him anyway.
@Kirie: I don't suppose you could ask about the details?

Damn. Was hoping everyone analyzing the war table scene like The Last Supper were incorrect on the Judas theory. ![]()
Context is gonna be really important. Reasons and intent are going to matter to me, too. Again, like with Loghain, he thought he was doing things for the greater good of Ferelden rather than to be a mustache-twirling villain. I know that's unforgivable for some, but not for me. Anders is... a harder stretch, as I can't get behind terrorism no matter the cause behind it IRL, but for a fantasy setting I was able to go with it for some Hawkes.
But I'm also remembering that concept art of the war table. With everyone freaking out and Solas in the background with his Baldy Elf McSmuggins smug look (which could also very well just be a super-serious face, too, on the flip side of that coin). Hmmmm....

I asked! Not too sure if they would risk being willing going into more details, but it was certainly worth a shot at least.

Posté 12 novembre 2014 - 03:02
No prob! I'd rather get the bandaid pulled off quickly, now that we definitely know he's the traitor. :/

Then the no villain LI's comment from one of the dev's would mean nothing. I don't think he's a villain, I refuse to accept that! ![]()

I love how we're all so concerned about how other people will react to Solas based on this. This feels like a Solas protection squad.
And I'm still good with this. Unlike Anders who actively betrayed you, all of this happened before Solas joined the Inquisition, and then he immediately joined up to see if he could help. Also (as I said earlier) it makes for an amazing dynamic with a romanced Inquisitor.

All depends on your definition of villain I think
Some people think Anders is a villain.
But I think it'll be a little more complicated than that. If the whole thing is in a shade of grey, I'll be able to deal with it just fine. I love morally grey characters. As long as it's done well, that's honestly all I ask for.

@Kirie: Yeah, now that we know I just want to know.
I'm pretty excited for the romance now. It's really going to be something, whether there's a chance for him to redeem himself or not. I'd much rather he be morally grey though. I like the idea of the rumors so I'm hoping just a little that they're true. Especially since there are options in how to deal with it rather than inevitable tragedy.

But maybe he only joined the Inquisition to make sure that everything goes as planned ![]()
I just hope it's not as obvious as Anders betrayal
If Solas wants me to help him collect some ingredients for a potion I'll lock him up somewhere ![]()

Also this just confirms that PW was trolling us hard in the Solas interview. "Just your average elven apostate." Uh-huh, sure.

Also no wonder nobody's talking about Solas in reviews and such. He's basically made of spoilers.

Well, hell, I figured he was anyway.
He's really big on deadpan sarcasm. Which can be very hard to detect in a written format, but I think I usually pick up what he's putting down a lot of the time.
