I definitely think he'll be trying to redeem himself. They said no villain romances, we've never had a pure evil companion character and I don't think a romance path would work for someone who was just evil.

It's about how Cole reacts to an AssQuisitor. It... is kind of bad if you're killing innocent people left and right.

Okay that stream only makes me more suspicious of Solas and his involvement. I don't see him working for big bad. But he's definitely up to something. Every time he makes that intense face behind the Inquisitor's back, I'm like "WHAT ARE YOU SCHEMING?!"

It doesn't make any sense for him not to be a redeemer. The Elder One obviously wants you dead and if he was working for the Elder One, he would have let that mark consume you instead of stabilizing it and showing you how to close the rifts. Plus, GDL calls him "very moral". I don't think he was lying. And Patrick Weekes said he didn't like being mean to him which would make little sense if he was just a villain. Plus he approves of helping people and states that he hopes the Inquisition can help others. And he's very interested and invested in seeing the Inquisition grow and thrive, it seems. Makes sense if he's getting eaten away by guilt at what he's wrought. He has a personal stake in ending this more than anyone if he was deceived into letting it happen/let it happen and didn't realize the full consequences.

 

Also OMG WHAT IF COLE KNOWS??? Didn't they say he can kind of read minds/emotions? That puts a whole new level to their friendship.

Cole knowing would be really interesting. Of course, if Cole knew, Solas couldn't be evil or Cole would react to it.

 

As for PW not wanting to mistreat Solas... I wonder if that could be a result of writing him even if he is evil?

Any spoilers about his romance yet? I saw on tublr someone said Cullen's romance was leaked but can't find anything on Solas or Cullen, just iron bull.

Don't know, the guy was seemingly playing as diplomatic, but could be wrong. Don't take it to heart, I'm just WAY too paranoid and suspicious of our resident bald elf xD

By this point I think the rumours are probably correct. I saw someone in another thread who played the game referring to the Solas card as the "BIGGEST MOST MAJOR spoiler of the entire game" and then saying that "Solas is very important."

 

But yeah, I'll admit I like the idea of Solas joining up with the Inquisition to look for redemption. It actually reminds me of Atton from KOTOR 2 (and anything that reminds me of Atton is a good thing~).
