I think this might be likely, the card looks like he's being stalked by the Dread Wolf.
So maybe he´s an agent like Felassan but refuses to betray you and that´s why he´s killed? 
I don´t know, I´m still trying to figure this out, since The Elder One clearly has Tevinter connections I don´t think Solas is working for him but don´t know 
just my thought...but the card seem more like a wolf over a...body? maybe Solas is killed by Fen'Harel?
When I first looked at it I thought it was a wolf over a body but the more I look at it I think it looks like a shadow caused the person on the card who I assume would be Solas.
Felassan had a connection to Fen'Harel and got killed for what appeared to be disobeying orders. So there's that.
If I have to choose betrayal or letting him die, I will take the betrayal thanks.

Maybe is a consequence of not betrayng our Inquisitor? Or maybe because of a choice he became a target.
I think is more likely something went wrong in that run and Solas leave/was killed.
But I don't think he is our enemy. He seem far too respectuful of others to just be e betrayer. (like the conversation with Cassandra)

The devs have said that companions can betray you if you make them angry enough. I suspect that there are multiple outcomes. Barring Thane, I can't think of any character that only had one possible ending.
Remember he has an hidden agenda...maybe he is an ancient elf? And yeah I'm not gonna believe he gets killed by Fen'Harel...but if someone tries to come and kill Solas I will murder them!!!!!!!
(guys you know you can keep a companion from getting killed)
I think it may be something like Zevran. If you make him angry/not friend enought, he will betray you. I hope there will not be a new Anders again. (and even with Anders there was the chance to not kill him)
If he does betray you I would imagine that it would have something to do with his personal quest and whatever his hidden agenda is and then you can possibly have him executed or have to kill him which is why he is unavailable in that video.
Omg! That is spoilery! I agree with the he is in cahoots with the big bad, with good intentions, and if you romance him he will redeem himself fro betraying you by sacrificing himself to save you. Or something. Personally, that sounds romantic if done right.
I don't want Solas to sacrifice himself to save me though. Alistair did that to me by killing the archdemon on my first origins playthrough and that is not going to happen to me again!
Urgh no! no sacrifice, no inevitable death of a loved one, thanks. I had enought with ME3 and Hawke's family, thank you! I prefer the banal happy ending. 
I don't care for tears and unhappyness in the way, but i'm a sucker for happy ending. I became teary eyed more easily with those than with depressing endings.
I don't mind tragedy. I'd just like it to not be inevitable.

Could be. The teeny Solas on the card seems connected to the shadow wolf with black threads but he's walking away from it.
I can't help it, but thinking about this topic and all those wolves painted on his wall (one of the angles makes it look like there is actually *another* set of wolves behind the intital back-to-back pair

We're definitely onto something. Not 100% sure I like what it is though. Ah, guess it makes for good plot material.
Not good. That's sounding too much like an Anders statement for my tastes. I actually am fine with Anders. I just don't want the same plots rehashed.
