Maybe only accidentally, as in he's very plot-involved and later they made him a romance, but not by design as Alistair and Morrigan in DAO.

Alas, not sure how "main" his romance will be (if there even is one). Just assuming based on the fact that his romance was added somewhat after-the-fact. *shrug* Still...there might be some parallels between Morrigan and Solas. /rubschinthoughtfully

Pretty sure I've read Allan say a few times now that there are no "main" romances, like Alistair and Morrigan. They tried to give everyone equal footing, even the late additions.
That being said...
So based on how plot-involved he is, do you think Solas is the "main" male romance? That is, the one with the most bearing on the plot? We know Cass is also very plot-relevant, and we get Cass and Solas right out of the gate.
...Wait, does that mean Cass is our Alistair and Solas is our Morrigan? XD
Solas as our Morrigan is a hilarious and terrifying thought when I start thinking about that one night in Redcliffe... before the eve of Archdemon battle... oh my stars. ![]()

well they did say there would be a lot of different ending results
(I feel like I remember them saying either 40 or 50 which does seem like a lot to expect),
so I'm sure there must be a perfect one.
I mean look at ME2 and that suicide mission. There were chances of losing characters there.

Solas's other fate is running off and having Lavellan's magic babies?

Well, if he wants to do a magical ritual a la Morrigan, I can hardly say no. It would be hypocritical since I almost always accepted Morrigan's ritual xD

Hmm. I was going more for the "uh, oh, we gotta make him some Old God Babies", but male pregnancy is an equally squicky thought here. ![]()

IF WE DON'T HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE RIGHT NOW, SOMEBODY WILL HAVE TO DIE.
*sigh* "It's for the greater good. I wouldn't expect you to understand."

Great and now the image of Solas the seahorse will probably never leave my brain.

On Solas' fate, give me a minute. On neogat a reviewer posted yesterday pic of his characters after beating the last dragon, after the main quest, at level 23, and he posted a pic of Solas. I'll try to find to see the level, but I'm reasonably sure he took it after the end of the main quest.

The PC and Solas were level 18 when he took the caps. He said that he was at "endgame" but it wasn't clear if that meant end of story or end of game post-main-story content. He finished a completionist playthrough at level 23.
You can find his comment about being end game and the Solas screencap earlier in this thread.
I think it might be these (one for Solas being present, the other for him being at end game):

Yeah, you're right, but I think he meant endgame as after the end of the game. He posted that Solas pic after an hinterlands pic which he called 'more recent'.

That's actually not reassuring. The 'more recent' picture of his warrior has a group of Dorian, Varric, and Cassandra. If he had to go back for an older picture of Solas, it may mean he couldn't get a more current one (it could also mean he didn't want to change his party).
Short of asking him - and he might not answer - I don't think there's anyway to know for sure.

The Solas pic was posted some time later. He might've swapped party between the Hinterlands pic and Solas'. He wasnt' asked about him specifically, after all. He was talking about armour looking and he stated Solas looks cool.
He did say he liked both Solas and Dorian. Also, the way he reffered to Solas, I don't think he was dead.

Guys I think you can choose between executing him or allowing him to redeem himself, so I don´t think he´s scripted to die ![]()

If his betrayal is inevitable, his death may well be too. It isn't what I'd want out of the story but I'd like something more concrete before getting my hopes up.
It would suck more than a little to go in believing there was a way to spare him and then have to kill him.

That's encouraging! Hopfully that means we get a choice.
I really don't think they'd make a LI die unavoidably in that way. I'm going to be pissed off if I spend 100 hours playing to be rewarded with an unavoidably dead LI...I'm pretty sure the devs would know that would make a lot of people very unhappy and mess with replayability. Also, regarding Thane in ME3 I'm sure Patrick Weekes that he spoke up for an option for Thane to survive and become an asset so he seems to support choices. ![]()

In the huuuuge post of batch screenshots he posted (of all various places in the game), Solas was in his party in every single picture.
It might be looking into it too much, but I really think it's kind of telling in all honesty.
I'm betting that you can choose to kill him, but you can choose to save him BUT he'll leave the party. I'm not too sure the rest of your party would be cool with a 'traitor' in the mix even if it is redemption arc, but I guess we'll see.

Varric might be the one with most problems with him, after Anders.

Yeah, Cassandra too. For advisors, Leliana as well.
I'd rather have him alive and out of the party, than always dead though.

We could have Anders in the party who was arguably a traitor, and we could also have Zevran and Loghain who tried to kill us before we recruited them. Companions griped, but no one left because of it except Sebastian and Alistair. I won't care if half the companions leave if Solas stays, because I know the advisors and Cole won't. I don't think the self-serving companions like Viv and IB would either.
