Even if he is Fen'harel, I'd rather not think of him as an evil trickster who betrayed everyone who ever trusted him since he's described as moral and he approves of helping people in need. Maybe he just got a bad rap.
How exactly does this coexist with the whole "he was deceived" if Solas is truly Fen'Harel? That just doesn't add up to me.
If this is all true, I really have no idea where Bioware is going with this. That's a lot of big stuff to be packed into one game. And I doubt a romance with Fen'Harel would end any way but sadly or be all that sweet so there's that too.
Go big or go home, I guess, but I'm going to be skeptical about how good of a plot line this is until I see it played out myself. If this is all real.

Quite. I could understand him causing the Breach or whatever or being deceived, but Fen'Harel...that just seems like way too much for me.

Well, keep in mind people reporting have only seen one outcome and the reviewers often rush to finish the game so they don't complete all the side stories or get high approval with everyone. He might very well stand with us to the end in our games. Someone rushing through DA2 would think Isabella betrays you and leaves no matter what.

I can see him as an Ancient Elf, but Fen'Harel? That's going a bit too far even for Bioware

Uhhhh, do remember that Fen'Harel is the god of tricks. He could very well be playing all of us.

Exactly. I entirely agree.
The person who confirmed that he's Fen'harel didn't say that he caused the breach, so that could possibly just have been a rumour.
Yeah, not sure he's Fen'Harel himself. Seems a bit...far fetched honestly.

Exactly. It feels almost like jumping the shark to me. Where on earth do you go from here if that's the end revelation of this game?

That's just much crueler than I want to believe. He wasn't even written by David. ![]()
Even the meanest DA LIs still cared about the PC. If Solas is just trying to rip our hearts out because he hates elves, that's super cruel.

Why too far?
Also this is going to be hella awkward to explain to the clan.
"So you know that guy I was seeing? Weeeeeell..."
I feel a need to post this song again.

Patrick isn't exactly kind, I think he was one of the writers on Rannoch and Tuchanka.
Now I feel like I should have just kept what was said to myself ![]()
Even if he is Fen'Harel and you want to kill him....I can't even begin to guess at how you'd do it, and if it would even stick. Which pisses me off, cause I really would like to kill him right now.
Now I feel like I should have just kept what was said to myself
Of course not, its good to have all the cards on the table. Thanks for finding it out!
The idea is just exceedingly hard to wrap my head around.
Why too far?
Idk, it just feels.... off

Don't. I think everyone here wanted to know what was going down and it's not at all your fault if some of us don't like it! I liked that I knew about the endings of ME3 that I disliked before I played, for example.
Plus, all of this is still SO vague. There's so much we don't know yet so we're just discussing dramatic scenarios! Who knows, maybe I'll end up liking the way this plot is written if it's true. I just don't like it at face value.

Same. The causing the Breach thing seems more probable to me.
Well I don't care what he is. My elf will still love him and I'll see what happens.
I'll either love or curse Patrick afterwards. ![]()
