Trying to wrap my head around Flemeth being Mythal the Protector. I never saw her as a protector, really. Just sorta... suspect and creepy with hidden agendas and not to be trusted. When I think of a "protector", I think of some magnificent figure standing between the weak and evil.

 

But then I think back and remember that Flemeth technically saved the Warden and Alistair, to ultimately save the world from a Blight.

 

And then she saved Hawke and company, who faced an endless darkspawn horde to get to Kirkwall.

 

Still gonna romance him, but now I keep thinking of my poor Levallan left crying into her ice cream and listening to this on repeat

I'm still romancing him. It's not what I was expecting, but I guess that's what I get for going in with expectations.

 

And I kinda love the idea of the First of a Dalish clan falling for the Dread Wolf. The First who is hailed by the entire world as a savior. That's wonderfully mythological.

Ever since finding out Solas's 'traitor' label, I've been quietly questioning his romance. I mean, what does he get out of it? Why bother with it if he's in cahoots with Cory. If the Fen'Harel rumours are true, I can see it being a completely manipulative game. That it's all for the Dread Wolf's amusement. That is quite...demoralizing actually.

 

But a romance will be had, and I'm sure it will be a very interesting playthrough.

I hope we find out the nature of his romance before release because if that's really what it is, I'm out. My Inquisitor doesn't deserve that!

 

And I would question what the point was of giving him a romance path. He's already going to get a tiny amount of play but if people find out that his romance isn't romantic at all and he's a bad guy, he'll almost never be romanced.

I'm hoping that he does end up falling in love with the Inquisitor even if he's actually Fen'Harel. Maybe it's a source of great turmoil for him? Not that his plotline is going to need anymore drama or anything, but

See, this is what I'm wondering and hoping as well. Because several female devs have remarked on his romance being "lovely", etc. Another one, in response to me saying on Twitter I was looking forward to finally meeting Solas, said, "Agree! I thought I wasn't going to like him at first but he's got this gentle softspoken confidence I find magnetic."

 

He's gotten some good praise, IMO. It would seem weird to be that well-liked... and, honestly speaking, from the female staff... if the whole thing is just a horrible sham/sorrow.

Liz Lehtonen, I believe. Described his romance as "lovely". Maybe even mentioned he was her favorite romance, and then I think Patrick quipped that it was because she loves GDL.

It could happen, I really hope it does. The potential of this, or the redemption plot, are fantastic. The irony, as someone already said, of the Dread Wolf falling for a Dalish! Fab

Yeah, I'm reaaaally hoping that this is going to be the case. I mean otherwise, why in the world would you waste the resources on him being a romance when there's other characters they could have used instead?

It had to be a very specific story they wanted to tell, and I doubt it would be one that would just **** over the Inquisitor hardcore. It just wouldn't be worth it at all, at least imo.

Frankly, if his romance was added just to be a giant mindf**k... instead of, I dunno, making Varric romanceable. As much as I adore BioWare, I will seriously be throwing things at my wall.

I guess Varric had other reasons for not being romanceable, with the possible Bianca plot.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the devs had to say about it either way. It's not like they could say, "it's very sweet until he stabs you in the back/kills a god and fucks off."

Depends. I can see why he'd hide himself and acts This way, but To be honest we don't have a lot of info.
