Oh. My. God.

Okay, please forgive me. But I think this is funny and maybe it will make some of you laugh/lighten the mood some.

Or maybe the wine is telling me to do stupid things.

But I was sitting here thinking, "Hmmm, potential otherworldy/godly creature possibly/supposedly falling in love with a mortal. Maybe. Where have I heard this before most recently and not in, like, ancient stories of Greek or Roman descent?"

And then I remembered the movie "City of Angels"

And then I realized the angel who fell in love in the movie was Nicholas Cage.

And then remembered I was the one who accidentally and unintentionally started the whole "Solas looks like Nic Cage" meme.

It's like everything's come full circle.

Oh. My. God.

I am going straight to Hell, express ticket. Do not pass "Go", do not collect $200.

No offense to you or your source, Kirie, but I don't think I'll believe this until we hear something else on the matter.

But if it's true, you've got to respect Patrick Weekes's troll game. "He’s pretty straightforward, honestly. Just your average elven apostate who voluntarily joins the Inquisition in the middle of the mage rebellion to lend his expertise with the Fade."

Weekes has been playing the long game. Everything he's said about Solas has made it sound like he's just...a guy. Not some mythical elven trickster god.

I've always interpreted those lines by Weekes to be really sarcastic, though.

Me, too.

Still... was not quite expecting THIS.

Would likely be the biggest Troll in the history of trolling anything, ever.

Oh, they definitely were. But there's a difference between like maybe an ancient elf and an actual god, you know?

Nah, it's totally fine. Like I said before, just passing along what was said. Probably best to just take all leaks with a grain of salt, but keep it in the back of your mind just in case.

I think I'd rather him be Fen'Harel or a servant of Fen'Harel and kill Flemeth over causing the breach though, personally. It would be..harder for me to forgive the latter.

Watch it end up be neither though lmao. But I DO think all of the wolves everywhere do show something to do with Fen'Harel either way. I guess we'll see soon!

@DragonRacer - You've just made my night with that. I remember the post when the whole Nicholas Cage thing started. Good stuff

So much epic speculation. At least we've covered all the bases, from minor betrayal to godly trickster. Can't say we're not prepared :D

From Weekes' interview.

"Writing Solas had its moments, yes. I personally love characters who are intelligent, characters who don’t necessarily break the universe they’re in, but who make players reexamine their own assumptions and look at that world in a new way."

:|

That's not funny.

Yeah, I've already read over that interview again looking for hidden meanings in every comment.

Especially that "he hates being seen as just an elf" part. Of course he would hate that.

Aaaand then I went to the Solas thread and people are talking about butts.

It seems almost...disrespectful now. Like, that might possibly be a god's butt that you're checking out?

Is thinking that one of your gods has a great ass sacrilege or something?

I am 100% down with Solas being evil/tricksy or a huge troll character, but if he can be kept by an Inquisitor who romances him, then I hope he can be kept by an Inquisitor who gets him to a high enough approval. I would hate for something that huge to be hidden behind a romance.

That's exactly what I'm doing because he could be not Fen'Harel at all,he could have nothing to do with the breach and we can have a good ending with Solas still with us......

I'm really trying to stay positive here ya'll!

So if he's an evil trickster god, why does he disapprove of murdering innocents, is that a part of his facade ?

Tbh, an ancient elf sounds more believable lol :D

I don't think it's unvelievable that he's a God. It's a bit strange he decided to work for so or. Else, but as I said before, I think he thought it was necessary.

Yeah, I've already read over that interview again looking for hidden meanings in every comment.

.
Even the phrase about how he see the conflicts between humans and elves, mages and templars, etc. is interesting. It kind of reminds me What Flemeth said about human conflicts. Both seem interested in stopping world threats related to the darkspawn/old God though :P.

Maybe he just got a bad rap. Stories can change over generations of telling.

Do we know if Fen'harel has a stance on innocents?

Just want to pop in and say that City of Angels is actually a remake/semi-remake of this movie. http://www.imdb.com/...=nm_flmg_act_34

And I think I too am going to take all this with a grain of salt. We'll see what happens.

So, hey, this article seems like it's missing some info in light of all this now: Breaking Down the Dragon Age Romances

Probably not if you worship dat ass. ;)

God bless you for it, too. This place has become a worse roller coaster than yesterday was, and I thought *THAT* was bad enough.

So if he's an evil trickster god, why does he disapprove of murdering innocents, is that a part of his facade ?

Would love an answer to this. Please save us with hope and logic because I'm just not sure what emotions to feel anymore. LOL

Maybe he's a misunderstood evil trickster god.

A misunderstood evil trickster god who loses approval when you threaten someone with gibbetting (I don't think that's a real word).

And whom people say is "lovely" and "moral".
