Aww I was kind of of hoping to flirt with him while using my human quizzy while making up a headcanon of unrequited love. I would've really liked to see how he would turn her down, oh well.
I've only seen men and female elves talk to him. I don't know if human females can flirt for sure, but I assumed no since men don't even get the option.
Yeah, I wanted the opportunity to get shut down by Solas, too. It stands to reason that would be included- since they tend to toss those sorts of things into conversations you can have with non-romanceable characters (which he was before, of course), especially when they're not obviously off-limits like, say, Shale or Sten.
These spoilers are doing nothing to make choosing my first inquisitor easier. On the one hand, I want to play my canonvese, which is a human warrior. On the other, I want to romance Solas and be as unspoiled for that as I can be (I mean, unspoiled for the actual romance and the context of what we know or think we know).
Uhm...I had a night of sleep, and in sleep seem like I had a little connection to the Fade (or simply bad digestion)

If Solas is really Fen'Harel, some phrases can make double sense. The "people would not understand what I did" (or something) can have a double meaning.
We know the legends say Fen'Harel tricked bot the ancient and Elven Gods (am I right?) and sealed both.
Yet may he have had a motivation for it? Maybe the two forces where in a conflict that could destroy the world? If he sealed both, he can be looked in a bad way by the worshipper of one side (Elves), and be remembered as the one that taken away the Gods and left the Elves without divine protection.
Even the Fellassan story can have a different prospective: we know, always from The Masked Empire, that Ancient Elves wheren't really saints, and they had second class citizien in their own race (City Elves being already oppressed by the upper elven class even at the time)
What if that society was totally corrupted, and Fen'Harel let yes the old generation die (Magisters), but saved the younger and let them survive, since still "pure" and without the knowledge to became like thei ancestors? And those survivor became the Dalish.
That would explain why he doesn't like the Dalish, since they only remember him for being the one who taken away their Gods, but why he seem to like Elves in general.
I don't know what to think or feel now, the one thing that scares me is that a giant traumatic romance arc would pretty much ruin my experience, that terrifies me.
I'll still do it of course, but...I feel anxious. We'll all be on tenterhooks from the start lol.
Well I'm happy to hear someone say that we can end the game with all companions and advisors that's a relief.
And yes I'm still taking all this with a grain of salt but to hear something positive for a change is Great!
Actually you know what? I'm gonna believe that one cause it's been like that through the past games and I think we can beat this game with Solas at our side..all the companions.
Also I agree I think some of these players didn't focus on Solas too much and that's why things didn't go to well between Solas and their inquisitor.
Reposting this from our other spoiler thread because it's, uh, kinda relevant.
Could we have some more details, here?
I really, really hope this is true > <; Honestly at this point it's incredibly frustrating because it's hearsay vs. hearsay. My source is also a reliable reviewer so at this point I think it's worth not believing anything until we actually find someone who is willing to give us screenshots and/or video.
But I think it might end up being like Exile said, that the people that had Solas leave did something wrong with one of the choices, which would be the best case scenario for us I think.
Someone needs to actually show us the receipts The only thing right now I'm putting stock into is that he is the betrayer..of something. Everything else, a huge grain of salt.
Edit: With the Reddit rumor, I think I'm going to actually end up believing we have a choice in the matter. Every single rumor has said that you have a choice on whether he stays/goes/dies so I guess I'm going to ignore my own advice on this one and hope I don't get burned in the end xD;
I had just gotten a few likes back this morning...
GUYS. If he does turn out to be Fen'harel, you could totally come on to him by saying "Dread wolf take me!"
Eh? Ehhhh??
This is probably the best thing to come out of this whole debacle.
On a related note, if he's really The Great Wolf, wonder if that means he prefers doggy-style?
AND I'LL JUST SEE MYSELF OUT NOW, SORRY, FOLKS...
I hate that picture. I don't want to be punished for picking the "wrong" LI. This one doesn't even have the excuse of "well you knew what you were getting into" that people like to throw around.
EXACTLY!!!
I will always want to keep him, even if he grows a goddamn tail.
Or regrows his tail? If he's really Fen'Harel and the legend of the Keeper's guard dog is true, he doesn't have it anymore...
Fables of the Dread Wolf
The courser and the wolf
"You know what the Dalish say to their dogs? “Take the Dread Wolf by the ear if he comes.""
"Long ago, a clan lived on the Silent Plains. It was a terrible, lonely place where the sun was forbidden to shine. Their Keeper had a coursing hound. They had run down deer and hares and wolves together when they were young. But they had grown old together, Keeper and hound, and now only dozed before the campfire, dreaming of hunts."
"But then the Dread Wolf came, for the Keeper was wise and kind—the things Fen’Harel hates above all else. At night, he tried to steal into the Keeper’s dreams, to twist his mind and turn him against the People. But even in dreams, the courser guarded his master. He caught the Dread Wolf’s scent and gave chase across the Fade."
"Fen’Harel tried to shake his pursuer, but the hound ran as coursers can only run in their dreams. Even the wind couldn’t have fled that hound. He ran the Dread Wolf down and grabbed him by the tail! Fen’Harel howled, so loud that the Veil shook and even the stars scattered in fear. But the hound wouldn’t let go."
"Neither hound nor Wolf gave in. Finally, Fen’Harel bit off his own tail to escape, and away he fled. Ever since, the Dread Wolf thinks twice about playing his tricks when dogs are on guard."

ok, crazyness out of my mind, I'm good now
Seems we were walking the same part of the Fade last night, because I was pondering the same thing... what if there was some galactic "greater good" reason for Fen'Harel locking both sides away?
"depending on your friendship with him you can kill him when you find out, keep him for him to redeem himself, or send him away." this sounds way more likely, but if he's not a fan of the Dalish in dialogue, why would he be doing it for the Dalish? Every single bit of information from all these various sources seems to just contradict each other. This also goes against the 4chan leaks because I think they said he was deceived, but this person says that he knew what he was doing.

So basically, back at square one.
That sounds a little like that first rumor. Maybe he means for the elves in general?

Yeah, that certainly might be the case.
The first rumor was: ">Solas is a traitor that inadvertently caused the tear in the fade after he was deceived by a “voice” that turns out to be the elder god. You can kill him for his crimes or let him redeem himself."
This current rumor sounds like he knows exactly what he was doing, even though he was just trying to help (How would opening a breach help the elves/mages though? Guess we'd need more information on that)
x_x
I feel like the first rumor sounds the most likely of the bunch. I have no idea at this point though
Yeah, just a little. The motives are different but the actions and reactions are the same. It is the second time we've seen "helped open the Breach" and "can kill him or allow him to redeem himself."
Maybe that's the deception from the first rumor? I'm not sure I believe it yet but it's food for thought.
Wut o_O
I would have said that this makes sense, exept for the dalish part...
But why does't he like the dalish anyway?
I guess we really won't know unless we play ourselves...
I just hope that he doesn't get romantically involved with a female dalish to take revenge or whatever because he hates them
