So is it officially time to present Solas and Hawke with this?

Looks like it, Hakwe just started a war. Solas started the apocalypse.
This begs the question, what's gonna happen to him after the game is over ? I mean, even if he redeems himself, people are still going to want his head.
As mentioned above, perhaps only the Inquisitor - or, at most, the Inquisition companions/advisors - find out about it. Maybe what happens in the Inquisition stays in the Inquisition.
Otherwise, maybe I'll fall back to my old DA2 failsafe: run away into hiding with my fugitive mage boyfriend that everybody wants dead.
So is it officially time to present Solas and Hawke with this?
Why is it that some of the smartest people end up doing the stupidest things? (Reminds me of a line from the "I, Robot" movie: "You are the dumbest smart person I know.")
Not really thinking about Hawke when I say this, but Solas and a long line of historical people IRL fit the bill.
I, myself, also sometimes seem to be the dumbest University Honors graduate I've ever seen. ![]()
BUUUUUUUT!!!! I'm excited to know it's possible to keep him and forgive him. I know I'll get **** for it from other companions but they can go and suck it.
Agreed. I mean it's not like Solas hasn't been helpful. Like keeping the PC from dying because of the Fade mark and showing her how to close the rifts, etc.
So I guess if he's not Fen'harel, then the super story reasons for him being race gated are back to just wanting elven babies?
Anyone gotta link to the Dalish talk with Solas?

Goddess, I hope so. That sounds infinitely better than, "He's tricking us into thinking he loves us because his the The Dread Wolf and tricking people is what he does."

It's sort of funny.
Because I know some folks were really squicked out if the reason is because he wants elven babies (never bothered me, but that's extremely personal for everyone, I know).
But now, given that it was potentially because Solas-never-loved-you-he's-Fen'Harel-and-just-wanted-to-f**k-with-you-because-lolDalish... yeah, elven baby dreams are aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-okay. LMAO
It's kind of funny that babies is the better option now. I'd still rather it not be babies and if the current rumor is true, I have a hard time believing kids are something he's thinking much about.
Oh, the guy said he wanted your power, so that's also likely.
So I was right? ![]()
Maybe Solas wanted the anchor for himself, but we got it instead!

Touche'.
Still makes it an interesting question why only a female Dalish for SUPER STORY REASONS.
Eh.
I'm still going to be a little cautious I think personally. Not that I don't believe random reddit dude since I also talked to him, but I don't know. Without proof it's still just a rumor, like the others, you know? :/
Really confused about the tarot card if that's the case though. Wonder what it means then?

Eh.
Ancient elf? Haha never letting that theory go ![]()
Well, the tarot card to me looked like he was being hounded (you'll pardon the expression) by the Dread Wolf. Which makes me think the Fen'harel theory is... well not true.

His interest in ancient elves may play a role in both of these? There's definitely something going on with Solas and wolf imagery, so I don't think being a traitor is the entirety of his story. I wonder if his companion quest has something to do with ancient elven stuff?
Solas is mega into ancient elves. I just watched a conversation video with Sera and she confirms that. Something about "we'll never be as good as we once were."
Maybe he's just an apostate who has spent too much time in the Fade and become enamored with the idea of his people once being immortal and all blessed with magic (he really likes his magic) or maybe he's an ancient elf. I would personally actually prefer the former but it could easily be the latter.

Oh, Jesus, THAT'S maybe why he was trying to merge worlds or bring the Fade into the normal world or whatever it was reddit dude said for his causing the Breach. When reddit dude said he was doing it for the Dalish/elves and mages.
MAYBE HE WAS TRYING TO BRING MAGIC BACK TO ALL ELVES LIKE THE OLDEN TIMES.

Ooooh this sounds super plausible. Would be really interesting if that was the case
Remember Sandal's prophecy in DA2?
"One day the magic will come back - all of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see."
Maaaaaaaaaaybe Solas was trying to help that along, thinking it would be better for everyone?
Doing it for the greater good. Something he wouldn't expect us to understand. Open a portal to the Fade and it's like Oprah:
YOU GET MAGIC! AND YOU GET MAGIC! EVERYBODY'S GETTIN' MAGIC!
If everyone has magic, that means no more fear of mages. No more Templars. No more potential of Circles again. No more mage-templar war. Everyone is on equal footing.
I think he might have been trying to bring back magic to EVERYONE. There's been a few suggestions that everyone could have magic if the veil was gone. Plus it's clear that he thinks the world could possibly be better if the veil was gone and spirits could mingle with people. He thinks that they could live symbiotically and neither would have to be a threat to the other anymore.
Clearly it didn't work out the way he'd hoped if that's the case. Which might be why he's trying to fix this mess. It would explain why he got kind of worked up and passionate in his conversation all the sudden when talking about the possibilities that come with the veil being gone. I could totally see it as a "It would be awesome! I....I thought it would be awesome....why wasn't it awesome...."
It's a radical idea and it's cool because it throws everything we've been taught in the game up to now in your face and you automatically think he must be crazy. But then you think about it. If everyone had magic, nobody would be above anyone else. No more templars vs mages, no more mages using their power to subdue non-mages, no more demons possessing and corrupting and killing because of misunderstandings and twisted ideas if the veil is gone and everyone co-existed. The idea of being friends with spirits isn't even that far-fetched when you think harder about it: everyone loved Justice.
Even after everything, Solas is still my favorite character and is introducing some intensely interesting lore and ideas.
Oh my god. It kind of reminds me of ME3's Synthesis choice. Solas totally would have chosen that ending if he was playing that game! Except, you know, his idea wouldn't make people half machine against their will.
That makes a lot of sense actually and fits very well with what we know about his character.
It really does make sense but I do have a question
,it seems like Cory still had a hand in creating the breach so is Solas connected to him? And also during the part where you´re going to Skyhold he keeps giving you some dark looks which makes it harder for me to buy the "he was manipulated" part ![]()
