When I say flustered, I should probably say flustered for him. He just kind of paused for a moment in his response and sounded surprised.
At least that's how I remember it going.
That's still ridiculously adorable, though. I'mma have fun flustering him.
My Lavellan is a playful sort, so I can see her totally doing things on purpose just to try and throw him off-step. Consider it a challenge to get a reaction from the "unflappable kind" sort of thing.
Is the flirting more straightforward or subtle?
The first flirt is kinda weird, suddenly being like "DUN WORRY I'LL PROTECT U WITH MY STICK ARMS"
But it's still better than Blackwall's I guess, that was like the weirdest thing ever
I personally loved that option. I always really like pairing my rogues or warriors with mages because of the dynamic of a mage/non-mage relationship, to me. It means as much as my rogue/warrior loves their mage partner, they can't ever truly understand them because they don't walk the Fade in sleep as mages do (and vice-versa). But there's also this sweet protective element - that people fear their mage partner unnecessarily and there are those that would harm them simply for being born with magic, and so my rogue/warrior is determined to protect them from all threats, from frightened townsfolk to Templars to demons.
But I don't think I've ever before been given a dialogue option to *express* that feeling. Until now. And it's a romantic flirt line to boot. I am on Cloud 9 about that!
I always sort of envision my rogue/warrior standing protectively in front of their mage partner, shielding them from Templars, and having a total Lord of the Rings Arwen moment: "If you want him, COME AND CLAIM HIM!"
I PM'd the guy from the Blackwall thread for clarity on whether Solas still dies/leaves after rejoining and his answer is no. The only way for Solas to die is if you don't have high enough friendship to convince him to return. Or maybe that should be said the only way to save him is to have high enough friendship but that's the only point he can die at.
And this will surprise no one but he recommends playing an Inquisitor who helps people.
Technically still hearsay but comforting hearsay.
That's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for!
Also, I
that Solas likes you helping people.
As far as my Inquisitor, since folks are sharing and want to know, mine will be a dual dagger-wielding rogue. That was how my City Elf Warden started life and how my first Hawke started life, so I'm continuing the tradition (I actually named my Keep world state import of those two "Rogues Shape The World"
)
In general, she is a very nice, open-minded, curious sort. She's fine with the Dalish, but does find some of their ideas a bit suffocating. She does not understand why they look down on city elves, when she feels they should be compassionate towards their own kind regardless of whether or not they dwell in the woods or in cities, whether or not they've put on vallaslin. Many would probably say she's too curious for her own good, as she's fascinated by other races and cultures as well as the Fade and the spirits that dwell there, but has not had much interaction with any save for stories and her own over-active imagination.
Because of this mindset, I see her going on to be a pretty successful Inquisitor. It means she won't lord Dalish pride over others and will be open to hearing the plights of others. She's likely to get along well with the other races and adore the chance of finally getting to learn more about their cultures directly from the source! It's also for this reason that she's drawn to Solas - his views on the Fade intrigue her and play to her inner belief that all things are not black and white and that where evil may lie, so also may lie good.
While being largely big-hearted and open-minded, she's not afraid to make the tough decisions when she has to nor is she afraid to stand up against those who would bully others. Not helping people or abandoning them to their fate is a truly last resort to her. She also would never ask someone to do something that she wouldn't be willing to do herself. The mark of a good, natural leader. The funny thing, though, is that while she's destined to be a great leader, it's not something she ever envisioned for herself and she'll have trouble adjusting to a role where others look to her for orders and guidance. After all, she's used to being a rogue in the shadows... not a Herald placed upon a pedestal expected to save the world.
I struggled for a long time to think of a name. Then, Mikayla came to me suddenly. And when I looked up the name's meaning, it struck me as perfectly fitting for her!
"English Meaning:
The name Mikayla is an English baby name. In English the meaning of the name Mikayla is: Feminine of Michael, meaning gift from God." (I find this sort of appropriate given what we know about how others view the Herald of Andraste.)
"People with this name have a deep inner desire to inspire others in a higher cause, and to share their own strongly held views on spiritual matters. People with this name tend to be passionate, compassionate, intuitive, romantic, and to have magnetic personalities. They are usually humanitarian, broadminded and generous, and tend to follow professions where they can serve humanity. Because they are so affectionate and giving, they may be imposed on. They are romantic and easily fall in love, but may be easily hurt and are sometimes quick-tempered."
