Yes. Flemeth says "you shouldn't have given Corypheus your orb." But Solas acts as if it is an incredibly important artifact and mourns its loss when it's gone. Perhaps it was used for a purpose he didn't intend. I just find it hard to believe that the Dread Wolf could be tricked in any way or not know what would come of giving the orb to Corypheus. It's possible the orb holds the potential to destroy the veil completely? According to Solas he's trying to help The People but considering how he kills Flemeth at the end seemingly to her surprise, I have no clue if he's being genuine about anything he said in that scene.

 

Edit: He says in response that he was "too weak after his slumber to unlock it" and "The failure was mine, I should pay the price. But The People, they need me."

Yeah the thing I'm questioning most is why they made him a love interest. There's no universe in which that romance can end happily or even have any sort of satisfying conclusion from what I can tell.

 

And it seems like a blatant lie to say there's no villain romances if he's the evil, murdering Dread Wolf. The only thing I can assume is that there's more to this than we're going to know for a while. Maybe he was being genuine when he said that he didn't intend for Corypheus to use the orb the way he did or to cause all those people to die. Would also explain why he's helping you to stop everything. Fixing his mistakes and all.

You're asking someone to defend how they intend to play the game. It wasn't a harmless question it was a lead in to telling them how very wrong they are for wanting to romance him even if he's responsible for all the death. That is not going to be happening is this group.
