And when this is all out in the open for people who don't care to be spoiled we can totally copy the #ridethebull thin and use #leashthewolf. I still have to write up a section on Freud's stages of psychosexual development, a section on Jung's collective unconscious and archetypes, and a section on Jung's introversion/extroversion because this six page paper is due tomorrow. It is one a clock and I am so tired and I have to get up at 7. Solas is too distracting.

 

Also, no wonder he doesn't like the Dalish. Have we discussed this yet? I can't remember.

Okay, okay, so I am ecstatic about this- I've been weaving all sorts of webs regarding his motives and origins in my head- and now, well, now my favourite hypothesis has been confirmed!

Really though, several points have continuously floated to the top of the sea of emotion raging in my mind, and I would really love to hear your thoughts!

Why is he willing to romance at all? 

If his feelings are genuine, will he leave us?

If he does, will he come back?
Is he race-gated due to his devotion to the people as a whole, or for a different reason?

How far will our relationship go- will it end up as unrequited love? (I really hope not)  

 

Personally, I am a lover of angst, but, I need a bit of true romance as well- a happy ending, you know? I only hope that Bioware will give us that with our beloved wolf.

I really hope he's at least somewhat genuine in the things he says and does because I still like him so much based on that. When he says the line above to me I'm going to squeal and hope he isn't just Trickster God screwing with me.

 

I'm totally going to change my sig to #TameTheWolf once everyone knows what the dealio is! I wonder if people will start giving him canine traits when the inevitable fanfiction pops up. Solas liking belly rubs and ear scratches?

The writers are cruel, but I'd like to think they are not so cruel as to have the whole romance be a lie. Even Morrigan who never wanted to form attachments loved her Warden.

I think so too. Gods falling for mortals are really not an uncommon story in mythology. Even if they don't usually work out. Like, ever.   And I think, like Morrigan's romance, it will be one of those unexpected things that just happens. Because things sometimes just happen.

I can't wait to play the story of sweet, optimistic Cari and how she saves the world and falls in love with the Dread Wolf. It will be *Cailan mode activate* GLORIOUS!

...well, that was a LOT of info to digest over breakfast I didn't watch the video, but I've been wanting to know who Solas is before heading into the game. And for them to actually go with Fen'Harel. Well, this romance ain't gonna end well...or really go anywhere. How can we trust his word? Why would he bother? Hmm, this brings up all those disheartening questions again

 

Damn it! Gonna do it anyway  I'm a sucker for angsty stuff. There is so much we still don't know, but at least I've an inkling of what's to come.

I should be asleep, but work kept me busy all day. Only now got a chance to catch up with the thread. Between fighting with my pc, and reading that the whole "white fang" thing is now true. Bleh. My excitement has admittedly deflated.

I think when I do finally play this game, I'll just make a male human mage.

Kudos to all those that like this idea. Just can't do it myself. I will still be keeping my eye on all the spoilers....who knows, maybe different endings, will switch things up a bit.

Think about it, though. Now those of us romancing Solas can go back to Clan Lavellan and introduce him.

If only it were so...I wonder if the Inquisitor will ever even find out. I wonder if the romance path could differ that much.

I'm sorry this ended up ruining it for some of you. =/

 

I admit, for the most part I think it's funny. But having seen enough spoilers at this point, I think I'm going to find a lot of this game over the top amusing. Like BioWare is way overcompensating for how small scale DA2 felt (disclaimer: I liked that DA2's story was small scale, what bothered me was there was at no point anything that ever felt like a victory for Hawke).

 

If it helps, it's a fun game to play even if the story ends up getting utterly weird.
