Well yes, but Hawke could at least run off into the sunset with Anders, so to speak. Our Lavellan gets left behind (for now/for good) without ever knowing why Solas left them exactly. Anders told us parts of it eventually, but Solas... Ugh, this romance will give me all the feelsuh.

Blackwall or Bull. Was going to be Cullen, but I was going to use my canon world state for that like the Solas playthrough (because of my Amell) and play a mage again - and I'd get burned out if I piled more of the same back to back. Whomever's romance is fluffier though is going next.

Not really, I like all the characters but Sera so I was going to play all genders and have fun - but spread out over the next year or so as if I play too many back to back playthroughs I'll burn myself out like I did with Origins. The reason why I mentioned those three first is that they're the ones I'm most interested in as of right now. Dorian and Josephine will be my same gendered romances, and I haven't figured out when I'm doing Cassandra but I adore her to bits so not last. Thanks for the tips!

Ah, in this case, some more impressions: Dorian's romance seems sweet and fun. Josie's seems very sweet and restrained. And Cass' looks like the most romantic, but there can be some drama at the end.

Even if he could, we already know one death wasn't good enough for Flemmeth. Its likely these "god/spirit" entities are quite resilient.

First time is the kiss in the Fade, which he stops because he doesn't think it's right for it to happen while the Inquisitor is sleeping. Second time is the kiss on the balcony, which he also stops and walks away from. Third time is a talk somewhere I can't remember, which involves hand holding and a kiss... and then he walks away.

And ends the relationship, effectively. You can try to talk to him about it, but he'll just say you need to focus on the task at hand, essentially. That's where he told my Inquisitor they could talk about it after, but then he never did. :c It's clear that he loves the Inquisitor very much, though, I think.

 

 

 

 

It's after one of the last main story quests in the game; it's basically... a date in a pretty area, I guess? Though that's not quite the right way to describe it... It's also the one where you get the romance achievement.

I actually loved the romance--it was sad because of the inevitable end (which I didn't actually know about beforehand), but also very sweet while it lasted, and I really did feel like Solas loved my Inquisitor. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of a conversation/any clarification at the end, mostly because he did say everything would become clear at the end. Solas, nothing is clear. :| That is a lie.

I'm smelling DLC. I wasn't around when DAO came out, but I'm sure people felt Morrigan's romance was the short stick and unresolved until Witch Hunt came out.

Really glad to hear that! Honestly, I feel soooo much better that knowing that he didn't end up actually manipulating her for anything nefarious just to drop her in the end. I'm very happy that his feelings are legitimate. That was my number one concern for me I think. Sounds like he was incredibly conflicted (and for good reason lol)

 

 

My source who gave me the information beforehand, also said the only choice he had was for him to end up leaving out of the blue as he did (not to kill him or anything), so I guess I'll hold out on some hope that he'll end up showing up in a DLC or something. Guess we'll see!

I am sure there will be some sort of conclusion. Otherwise, the ending stinger doesn't really have any place in the game. Unfortunately we might not get it for a while- Witch Hunt was the closing DLC for DA:O. 

 

I am pretty thrilled with it, personally. While I do like some fluff in my romances, I would rather have the overall story be strong. Solas's romance might not have a 'happy ending', but I feel like it will have a stronger narrative impact. Also gives me something to look forward to!

Question: the ball where you dance with your LI. Is that Vivienne's recruitment mission or something that happens later?

 

I just got an invitation to go meet Vivienne, but I haven't done much main quest content, so romance definitely isn't "activated" yet as I've only had three flirts and seem to have exhausted Solas's conversation options until I eventually get out of Haven.

 

Wanting to know if I should put off Vivienne's thing until later or if the ball is totally separate and a later main story thing.

I have to say, after listening to him and Varric after learning of the spoiler it's almost impossible not to see him coming to the conclusion he did. He talks of fallen empires, wanting to change what had happened, though he uses the Dwarven Empire as the basis for the talk. Solas... What are you going to do and why do I get the feeling my girl isn't going to like it...? ):

I wonder if (and this is the eternal optimist in me) that perhaps Solas would explain after ensuring his meeting with Flemeth went as planned. Let's think, if he truly loved the Inquisitor than perhaps he is (a) trying to spare her from whatever it is he plans to do, ( did plan on going back afterwards, but was afraid she would want to accompany him to see Flemeth (if she understood), or © what if she didn't understand and tried to kill him.  Maybe, for his purpose, he needed to see Flemeth first.

 

I'll admit, my Inquisitor is not your typical Dalish.  The way I see it (and have had her explain to those who have asked), I saw her often keeping to herself and always seemed to be the odd one out of the clan. She is young, but ever questioning, choosing to see the Dread Wolf as misunderstood than evil (so she would, if given the option, remain with Solas if ever finding out the truth) Plus, you have to admit: Inquisitor Levallen, the Herald of Andraste, the Mother of Wolves, and Tamer of Gods has a nice ring to it  

ANYWAY, my point is, she's different. I wanted to craft her this way because I was never really a Dalish fan; I was more of a City Elf kind of girl, so if I must play Dalish, she would indeed be a misfit, and an open and accepting counterpart to our lovely Elf-Wolf.

 

However, I'm wondering ... I FINALLY caved and watched the epilogue video.  Did Solas indeed kill Flemeth, OR the fact that she says "I'm sorry, Old Friend" and all God-like madness breaks loose, as his "punishment", does she body jump into him - killing him and taking his body as a new host? 

(I dear God hope not! If there is a DLC, I would like my lovely elf man back in one piece, please and thank you). 

 

PS: love the romance scenes I have encountered so far, and as much as I understand and can respect why Solas does what he does, I'm saddened by the news that he will break things off (which I remain hopeful he is doing to protect the Inquisitor) and that there is no sexy time (cause I'm a pervy like that)
