Want me to scan my Solas cards from my Inquisitor's Edition? I don't have the red wolf shadow card in-game; I have a really pretty peaceful-looking one for Solas instead. Or I did, anyway. I don't know if it changed again. :/a

I'm all for dramatic romances here and there because in a way it kind of makes things more beautiful for me personally. I always feel kind of bored with the happy plucky romance options. However I do like having the option of happy endings or bitter sweet ones at least (definitely not unfinished). I will be pleasantly surprised to play a tragic Bioware romance one day that doesn't actually end in tragedy. Life is a series of trials and ups and downs, it really shouldn't be one note happy or one note grief all the way, so why can't it be a mix of both? Either way, even if he leaves us forever they need to have him come back in a DLC to explain why. As it stands the ending just feels hollow and unfinished without an explanation which is a shame because it is sooooo well done in other aspects. Without him even saying goodbye, well you're an ass Solas...WHY DO I LOVE YOU! PLEASE LET ME LOVE YOU! Ugh

 

Did I mention that I hate cliff hangers...yeah...

Now I'm sad

 

It doesn't bother me if it has a little bit of drama in it...but I am just one of those people who prefers happy ending over a sad one. 

 

I don't like cliffhangers either...well if it ended like something like Solas's disappearance yes I don't like it lol.

But that is something surprising to reveal in the game. Seems the Dalish have been wrong on the Vallaslin all this time.

Woow. Thank you so much! These are excellent. I am impressed with all the work bioware did on these cards. It didn't even occur to me that there were multiple variances. I unfortunately don't know too much of tarot symbology, but I'm sure other people might be able to offer a good analysis of what each card means. 

 

The three eyes on the dread wolf is particularly spooky excellent.

Hey guys, I finally got the third scene and omg. Tears. So many tears. Like I had watched the video and was prepared, but I picked different choices and it was slightly different and I was not expecting the wonderfully gut wrenching heart break.

If you pick all the diplomatic options, you get a chance to say "I love you Solas, please don't go!" And the utter devastation on his face at that. Holy crap. He was so upset, my PC was crying, I'm crying.
It was very romantic and tragic.

I just got to the part with the Fade, does anyone know what the Fear Demon and Solas say to one another?

Also in part of the fade there is a graveyard where they mark what I think are the companion's greatest fears. Solas' is dying alone... ): Makes him breaking up and the whole Flemeth thing even sadder...

Speculation on a part of the after credits ending and spoilers for a possible outcome of the Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts main quest under the tag.

It might be that when Solas says the people need me in the end credits scene he might not be referring to the elves. 

 

I just finished Halamshiral and supported Briala, the following conversation you have with Solas is pretty interesting. Basically the inquisitors says she hopes Briala can help "our people" and Solas asks what you mean by "our people" before realizing she meant the elves, he then says he never considered the elves to be his people. You can then ask him who he considers to be his people, he says that's a good question and that whoever his people are, he joined the inquisition to help them.

  After thinking more about it , I think the ancient elves were very different because there was no veil .

So all the magic was in Thedas , probably why they were immortal .

Not sure about spirits , maybe they are a byproduct of the fade , or were part of the ancient elves...who knows.

Anyway the legend said the Dread Wolf sealed Gods away.Maybe Solas created the veil , wanting a better world for X reasons ( there's talk of a war between gods, so the veil could have been used to put whatever into prisons)

 

I think Solas wants to destroy the veil , that's why he wanted the orb back .And he probably gave it to Corypheus so he would do that.

Obviously things went badly since Cory only managed to tear a hole .

It's possible without the veil Solas and Flemeth would have gained their whole power and would have defeated Cory finger in the nose.

Didn't work as planned.

 

So now the orb is no more , Solas , I suppose slayed Flemeth to gain her power ...and is probably on his merry way to change the world.

Remember the Sandal prophecy.I think Fen Harel was supposed to rise and make all the magic come back and "everyone will be just like before".

Did anyone ever ask a dev to clarify the end scene with flemeth? A lot of people seem to think Flemeth took over Solas body after he kills her. But that upsets me because that mean Solas is dead. I don't want that crazy woman running around in his body.

I see it as him killing her then looking up to reveal his god wolf eyes. Cause hers were blue his had a blackness.
So confusing.

Anyone get a confirm on which one is true?

I really doubt we'd get an answer on that. It's supposed to be a cliffhanger.

It's implied, but no - there is no scene actually showing the end or beginning or intimacy between them. Which I can't blame them for given the end.

Okay, I was driving myself crazy trying to think of different ways to word searches trying to find the "missing" scene because I heard the dialogues which implied it and was confused how the heck I could have missed something that major LOL

Hmmm so Solas is the Hermit, Hierophant and Tower...
Is someone familiar with Tarot?
Maybe we can get something out of that, I looked up the Hermit back when we knew that's his card and it was pretty interesting

The Hermit is my fave card, and it's the one that I always associated with him.  The Tower is the one card I despise, which basically means destruction and turmoil, as for the Hierophant..

Some frequent keywords associated with The Hierophant include:

• Deception — Power — Respect — Duality
• Social convention — Belief system — Group identification

There are so many lines where I think "Ohhhhh!", when he talks about how the Dalish have their stories wrong, I can't remember the exact line but it's almost like he's saying they've been playing chinese whispers for generations.  I think the Dalish are wrong about a lot of things now... which is a pretty amazing realization... knowing this I almost feel ashamed when non Dalish Elves talk to me like I'm the dogs b**locks because I'm Dalish...

To sum up, Hierophant is the wisdom and somehow religious card, the Hermit is both loneliness and knowledge, and the Tower is big change that hurts. All of these fit very well Solas.

 

I personally like Solas romance the way it is. I don't see how it can end happily, there's just the need perhaps for the promised explanation. If I want happy endings, I can always choose another romance. After two happy endings with my warden and Hawke, I think that to have one tragic one fits well, and is very relevant to the inquisitor story.

I want the happy ending. after ME3, the inconclusive (and almost surely not endend happily) DA2, the deletion of the happy ending in DAO (thanks, BioWare, eh! sometimes even in real life things turn out ok, you know?) I want a chace for a happy ending.

 

Happy for those who like the drama. I'm not one of them.
