However, at the same time, I do get a giant chuckle out of thinking... if all these horrible thoughts we're having are true... and the devs (like Allan *narrows eyes in his direction with a pointed look*) spent all that time watching us be fluffy bunnies about Solas... *imagine* the absolute belly laughs they were getting thinking about all those fan tears on the horizon.

I think there's cause to watch Solas carefully but I don't think he's 10000% going to be a bad guy either. They did say that there would be no villain romances.

 

Of course now I'm thinking of the possibility of some sort of heroic sacrifice on his part, so.

Guys please stop thinking Solas and the romance/friendship is nothing but doom and gloom. I know that video pretty much shocked us but that doesn't exactly mean he's going to be a traitor/Fen'Harel etc.

 

And even if he does betray us it will be because we had a bad relationship with him...kinda like Zevran and Isabela etc.

This is true too. They have said that companions can betray you but I feel like that's in the context of it being prompted by your actions.

 

Edit: I don't think I'm going to rule out the possibility that he does. Or the possibility that he doesn't.

Nah. I'd rather he not be a traitor but the discussion has definitely gone some fun places.    I was mostly acknowledging that some people really are anxious about the possibility. I'm good either way, so long as it's well written.

Finally got a chance to watch that 9:20 clip.

 

Hmmm, hope that was an AssQuisitor or something to earn that glare.

 

Because otherwise, that gives me Loghain-at-Ostagar vibes as far as "looks" meant to clue in the player (but not their character) as far as bad foreshadowing. 

 

(And I say this as someone who adores Loghain, but totally understands why many don't... hmmm, maybe that bodes well for how I might handle a Traitor!Solas should that occur...)
