So.... they limit ch

But they will release a DLC for 9.99 with something that should have been in the game because of simple logic?

Except... they're not doing that? Like, there's no indication BioWare will even patch it in, much less charge money for it.

In 7 days to die and Minecraft my character can make a storage chest from sticks and stones 5 minute into the game.
In DA:I you can seize entire quarries and lumber mills, but apparently there is no wood left to create a storage chest.

Sounds legit :P

Haha, don't you say. I'm at this time working hard to finish my current Minecraft world before DAI comes out. I *built* a castle stone by stone. Space to store things there is in abundance, and wood is - as it should be - a renewable resource. The contrast makes DAI's lack of storage all the more ludicrous.

Im really never bothered by storage or no storage, it can get annoying sure but it's not a big deal to me. However from a story standpoint it makes NO sense for you, a person with your own castle, to not have one tiny chest somewhere for chucking crap. That aspect of it bothers me more than anything else. You would think a struggling, up and coming organization would want to hoard as many resources as possible at least.

Wait a minute - all that video says is: "Pointless inventory limitation."

We've invented:  No chests, no storage, end of the world from one statement?

Review Guy:  I didn't like the limitations on the inventory.

CONFIRMED!  No gear in Dragon Age Inquisition!

Not everything in Inquisition goes off without a hitch. I was annoyed by the lack of storage chest, especially since my inventory got crowded by upgrades and over-leveled gear – useful items that I was reluctant to sell off. You can expand your inventory via Inquisition perks, but doing so is practically mandatory, which means you burn those points on housekeeping when they could be spent making you feel more powerful.

It honestly seems like it could be an oversight. I'm not sure why there wouldn't be some sort of storage area or treasury in Skyhold to store stuff. Hawke has a storage chest in his/her uncle's house but the leader of a castle-owning organisation doesn't? Huh.

Correct me if I'm wrong but crafting mats have their own inventory interface.

This is what I have heard as well

@TKavatar:  Thank you, that's far more substantial.

It is worthy of note however - that he ALSO says that it is minor and gives the game a 9.25.

So - before I think it's a huge mistake on Bioware's part - and I do think no chest is crazy foolish even though I never used them in either game.  I want to see just how expansive the inventory can be before I decry it.

Obviously you lack reading skills. In the very next paragraph of the OP, I said that in one of the written reviews, the "pointless inventory limitation" was CONFIRMED to mean no storage chest.

It's not an overreaction to say "hey, this kind of sucks" after Bioware took out a feature that I heavily relied on in the previous two games. I'm just voicing my opinion and clearly plenty of other people agree that it's a baffling decision that annoys them.

Edit: This kindly person found the review I mentioned in the OP:

If the inventory limit can be edited, that's the first thing I will do.

@xyzmkrysvr:  Actually - I lack interest in BSN paranoia skills.

I'll still wait and see - because of what ELSE that interview says - that doesn't support BSN overreaction and rage.

I do think it's a mistake if they don't leave enough room for gear... but what I don't think, is that it's their obligation to make sure you can hoard every staff you make from lvl 1 - 30.  So, I'm interested in seeing if there's enough room for a reasonable inventory before I freak out.

Wait, what?  There's no way to sell low-quality or low-level items like in every other RPG in existence?  What?

(...)

I HATE having to do that in RPGs. I'm kind of a hoarder so I don't want to just immediately sell/destroy everything I find. I obsessively pick up every piece of elfroot and search every nook and cranny for loot and I just assumed we would come back to Skyhold and dump it in a storage chest, like we could in the past two games.

How did the devs overlook this??

What do you guys think about this?

But didn't they confirm that crafting materials don't use inventory space? I think I remember Mike saying this on a gameplay video, that they didn't want us to run out of space because we like to pick every elfroot we see. So that's a plus, I guess.

I never like to have a lot of armor and weapons on my inventory, I usually go with a weapon and stay with it till the end (unless something better comes along) and same goes for armor. And since we can change our armor anytime we want, there's no reason to have an inventory full of it, in my opinion. Whenever I would store stuff in DA2, the things would just sit there forever because I always forgot about it lol

PC Master Race modders will find the way; I'm sure of it. I mean these guys fixed graphics for Watchdogs yo.

This concerns me more than any other change I've heard about.  They've made such a detailed crafting system, and I was planning to have different gear for different situations.  Weapons for demons, weapons for dragons, armor with buffs for different kinds of damage (e.g. for each dragon type).  With nine companions and one Inquisitor you'd need to have well over a hundred slots.  Besides not leaving any room for items you pick up, you'd have to menu through all of your specialty crafted items just to manage inventory.  I'm really surprised they would remove a storage feature when it can be so useful and convenient for the player.

Waah! I have to sell the useless junk the game saddles me with! Waah! Truly, the world is ending! Oh, woe is me!

DA's never had an unlimited inventory system, and I've never collected enough crap to justify using the storage chests.

'Sides, the reviewer probably just missed it.

Cheatengine -> Increase available perks number -> take those inqusition perks for free -> pretend that nothing happend.

Correct me if I remember wrong, but didn't that Origins DLC cost Bioware point, which in turn cost money. So considering most want the functionality it would account for quite an easy extra revenue

No, it wasn't. One of the devs. from Bioware created (at his own time, I think?) a storage chest as a mod. You could download this from the DA Nexus. And then it would appear at your camp.

And yes, there were a DLC (premium content), Wardens Keep. In it, you could meet merchants etc. And then, after you've completed it, you would access to a chest in which you could store your weapons etc. In DA:O you could buy backpacks. each backpack would increase your strength by 10...and it also increased how much you could carry...

I never used the storage chest once.

When I have a 82 damage staff and find a 92 damage one. I'll either pass the 82 damage one to someone else, sell it or destroy it. I don't see the point in keeping it in storage when I'm never going to use it.

I don't think the premise that "I don't want/use this feature ergo it must not be important" being put forward by some is a particularly cogent argument.
