If I look at amazon at my order for the collectors edition it shows delivery on the 18th by 8pm, but the email they sent says sometime between the 21st and 25th... That's really weird. I didn't pick one day shipping though, maybe that's the difference?

 

That's probably a form of CYA on Amazon's part. That way if it doesn't come until the 25th, they can point to the email you were sent. If you get it earlier, however, it's a case of underpromise and overdeliver. It's not completely unheard of to get something on release day if you don't use one- or two-day shipping, but I suspect Amazon doesn't want to promise that.

Yes, my Amazon order of the Inquisitor's Edition also shows a release on the 25th. I emailed Prima and asked that we could at least get our in game items on time. Doubtful, though. Hopefully, it will be straightened out and shipped on time.

That would make sense. As long as it shows up eventually, I don't mind. Just thought it was weird the email doesn't match up with what it shows on my order page. If I have it the same day the game is released I'll just end up spoiling things by flipping through it while waiting for the game to install. Patience is not a virtue I possess.

 

 

I hope everyone waiting on the Inquisitor's edition get it straightened out though. It's odd that some bookmarks and a pen would hold it up by a week. Especially since they aren't taking orders for it anymore. You'd think they'd have made all they were going to make and have them ready to go by now with the game coming out next week for most of the world. (Amazon shows one still available, by the way, if anyone was still looking for it despite the apparent shipping delay.)

Another user has confirmed that Prima delayed the release date for the Inquisitor Edition:

Unfortunately, Amazon can't do anything about it if the publisher delays a date like that.

I'm ordering the Collector's Edition, and according to their earliest estimate, I'll get it by November 24th. I am getting Amazon Super Saver Shipping, though.

You could get "lucky", depending on the the service of choice from Amazon. If they do ONTRAC, It's entirely possible I get it within the week. However, if it's UPS, 99% of the time they will never ship it earlier than their time limit. And If I recall correctly, neither of them do Saturday or Sunday Shipping ofr the cheaper services (generally).

 

However, like I said, I am getting the Collector's Edition and the Inquisitor Edition.

On a (somewhat) related note, does anyone know why the Inquisitor Edition includes a 368-page guide, while the Collector's Edition is listed at 384pp.?

 

They're supposed to be the same actual guide, right?

 

ETA: BioWare's store lists the CE at 352pp., which also doesn't make sense.

Would you ask him if they will at least email the item unlock codes for those of us who have a pre-order in place?  I still haven't gotten a response to my email.

As far as we know, the shipping delay is for the Inquisitor Edition, since one of the components got delayed in manufacturing. The new release date is November 25.

 

The Collector's Edition and paperback should not be delayed, unless that information has changed in the past few hours. Their release date should still be November 18. One- or two-day shipping on Amazon should get you release date delivery for those.

 

ETA: I'm speaking only about US/NA.

If you have twitter you might consider tweeting Prima/Dragon Age like I just did, sometimes different forms of communication are best.  Also going to write an email, which I sure will be as useful as all the others have been. :/

Prima guides ALWAYS come out a week late. This has happened with almost every single major release that I would expect it from now on. It happened with TS4 too. Not a big deal I don't buy those anyways.

It only seems to be the guides with the add on items, as it's also happened to Assassin's Creed Unity's Initiate Edition, only difference is they didn't add any more stock of the books, but it's also coming out on the 25th, so I don't know what to think. All I know is I'll likely not open these two editions of the guides as I've also bought the regular collectors editions so I'd have the items they come with as well as getting them on release day.

Hey fellow BSN'ers.  Yesterday someone posted about the Amazon's ship date for the guide is Nov 25th.  I posted a response and said I'd check it out.  I chatted with an Amazon rep today and have listed my chat below.  The gist of the conversation is that Prima set the guide release for Nov 25th and Amazon cannot change it.  I simply wish to ask all of you US BSN'ers who are affected by the release date to email Prima Games (go to their website and click on "Contact") so that those of us here in the US can get our guide and in game content on Nov 18th.  At the very least we should be able to access our in game content on the US release date (my opinion).
