The Claymore is certainly one of the best weapons in the game.  It is a very close range weapon but it puts out a ****-ton of damage.  I like to use it with Vanguards or other characters who get up close and personal.  Batarians, Krogan, etc.  I haven't tried it on the AIU yet but I hear it's sex.

Pun intended?

Most gamer nerds have only had sex with partners requiring inflation so I wouldn't put much stock into it. :lol:

AIU is a good kit although it feels cheap when using a decent shotgun.

Smart Choke makes it close to medium range. I made a headshot with it across Hydra once.

Long day at work, girlfriend's in the bathtub, finally got a game in. Tried Vorcha Sent, 6/6/6/4/4 with Claymore. Did U/U/G, got reapers, gold, reactor hazard. That was fun, cancelling with flamer was nice, although I found myself cancelling with heavy melee as well. The bit of a charge you get from it was handy. Tap Flamer at it's max range, medium range shot, reload, cancel with HM, shoot in face. Dun think I had to repeat that for anything but banshees. Used Incendiary this round, might try Drill for the next.

Did have an interesting spur of the moment tactic pop up when I heavy melee'd a marauder at full shields, stripping them. I tapped my flamer to get the "Oh gawd I'm on fire" dance now that I was on the marauder's health. Then I had the time to strafe around to line up a headshot with a brute behind it. Good times. (That's what makes me want to try drill next.)

Glad to know you're enjoying it! Yeah, one of the many good sides of the Claymore is that its reload is super easy to hide basically into any power. Cluster grenades, in the case of the vorcha, work perfectly as well ;)

An even better way is to Shoot, start Flamer (thus hiding the reload) and cancelling the reload with heavy melee (or grenades) when you hear the thermal clip pop. You can keep this going for as long as you want.

Talon  M-358   vs   Claymore M-300

->

Talon  M-358   vs   Claymore M-300

->

358 vs 300

which leads obviously to

358>300

Therefore

Talon>Claymore

I gotta admit, I want to give Claymore more love, but the long CDs scare me, since I like playing power dependant classes. I tried running Huntress with Claymore on few Silver matches... she performed quite admirably. Next, I wanna give Valkyrie a try. How does this one look? Note, my Valkyrie is actually 66666, built with maximum fitness for health and shields. And seeing I'm on PS3, what's the best way to RC? Just can't get that down.

The Destroyer, but you need to be very precise to align this "( )" with whatever you want to disintegrate because with DM engaged it almost has no pellet spread.

I'm a big fan of both Claymore and the asari, and in my opinion Valkyrie is one of the worst kits at using Claymore. If you're uncomfortable with longer cooldowns and have little experience with Claymore, I heartily recommend you try some other kit. For example, any other asari is a much better choice.

Well. Good that you are willing to give the High Lord more love.

But, to be honest, if you're into power dependant classes (i.e: you like feeling like a space wizard), then the Valkyrie is probably not your best bet, especially when specced like that and *especially* when your claymore is at level IV. The reason is not that it won't be effective, cause it actually would be, I'm sure. The problem is that your warp would have a CD of almost 8 seconds, which means you will feel like a mobile claymore turret that gets sometimes helped by some biotics. And while I would be totally okay with that, by what you said I'm afraid you might have issues with that and conclude the claymore is not so good. But that is not true, it is the way you would be using it that is... Well, not so power-friendly.

Something like this might work a lot better. I just tweaked a couple of evolutions and now your warp CD is slightly under 5 secs. Sure, you're a little less durable and your warp hits a little less hard, but that's not really much important in comparison to having to wait almost half the time to warp. Also you would want to take the headshot evo in the passives, cause your powers aren't gonna do much damage by themselves anyway, while your gun is. If you felt like squeezing in a power efficiency module, that would make your CDs even faster, down to 4 secs, which I think is perfectly acceptable. The only problem, of course, is that it comes at the cost of a cyclonic or an adrenaline slot. You might want to try all of those and see what suits you the best.

Keep in mind that a lvl X claymore really helps with mitigating its cooldown problems (in this case, for example, you'd get to 4 secs without the power efficiency module). And also, the Valkyrie is not the best fit for the gun if you feel that using powers often is important for your enjoyment of the gameplay. This is due to warp having a prettu high CD to start with, and TA raising it even more.
