Yeah... The explanation for missing Anders was better, and they didn't even use the fugitive card. I suspect Merrill will get a similar explanation, though Isabela might be off doing her stuff.

Already mentioned this in PM, but this explanation is so lame. A peek into what's up with Hawke and their LI was the silver lining of Hawke's appearance, and they turn it into two nonsensical lines that insult the relationship.

doesn't leave when Hawke dies after all? Hmpf. I admit I did like his scene afterwards (though the hug was very awkward). I wonder if it changes based on Hawke's personality. I'm not sure I can picture aggressive Hawke inviting thugs for tea. 

I doubt they would pull a Leliana for Hawke, though. Bioware probably doesn't care enough about Hawke to anger the players who wanted Hawke dead. I would cheer on Hawke gloriously stepping out of the Fade in the end, but I don't see it happening.

In the video Varric said "Carver needs to know", which seems similar to what he says in the screenshot. I hope it's not, because hell, that would be yet another lousy thing to add on a pile of lousiness. "Good thing Fenris learned how to read. Now I can write him how his lover died!"

 

 

 

I apologize if this has already been addressed somewhere, but I'd like to know: DA2 ended with Leliana connecting Hawke's disappearance to the disappearance of the Warden. "No coincidence". But from what I've seen there's no such plot in DA:I.

I don't know what leads up to Hawke coming to the Inquisition to say hi, but it looked like Varric knew where Hawke was all this time and Hawke had just been hiding from crazy templars. And I've read that the Warden is searching for a cure against the Calling of the Wardens somewhere (or is that still just a rumor?). That's not much of a mutual disappearance and shares no connection at all. So am I mistaking or was DA2's ending really just more of Bioware's cryptic nonsense à la Witchhunt to draw in people for the sequel?

 

Maybe I'm missing something, but right now I'm not convinced at all of the need to bring Hawke back as a NPC tied to a main quest. Their role makes little sense.

Since when were Hawke and Stroud friends? They've met, what, twice in six years? And why would the Wardens be the go-to persons to learn more about red lyrium? Hawke discovered it and the strange thaig it was in. The Wardens didn't know of it. And when the Fade adventure is over Hawke travels all the way to Weisshaupt to inform the Wardens of what happened? They can't write a letter for that? Send a courier? Hawke is back to being errand boy? Why was Hawke needed for this plot at all if that's how they leave: either dead in the Fade or off to Weisshaupt? The whole "Corypheus is my responsibility, I need to deal with him because I set him loose!" rings hollow too then if Hawke doesn't even get the chance to see it through. So what's left then? Just the opportunity to kill Hawke off?

Maybe they weren't friends in this world state, or maybe it depends on Inquisitor's response, when Varric asks what happened. I wish they'd make video with all types of responses and Varric's reaction.

I know my responses are becoming repetitive here, but WAT.

The part about Varric does make my fan fiction hilariously accurate, but damn it, Bioware! All this time I hated DA2's ending because it made it sound like Hawke and Warden had been kidnapped by the next Big Bad or something and needed saving. And now it just turns out to be a false alarm.  I wonder if they scrapped the original idea or that it was crude manipulation from the start. Well, the ending was always manipulative, but now it's insincere too.

 

[spoiler]Ahahahaha! Loghain buddies with Hawke?! Really???? The traitor of Ferelden who was responsible for the massacre of the King's army which included Aveline, Carver and Hawke themselves if not a mage? Dafuq! So I guess if Alistair is still a Warden he is friends with Hawke? Well, that's not worse than Loghain, but still. I don't know what they were thinking with this. Hawke's role is not logical at all and I have a hard time picturing it as the focus of the scrapped "Exalted March" expansion. Seems like they've scrapped Hawke's intended content altogether and dumped him in the spot of a random NPC. 

My last two imports set Nathaniel as dead (I thought he had survived in one) so I forgot his reason for investigating the Deep Roads. I mostly remember Carver complaining during that quest because he was a Warden last time I did it. 

Hawke's departure really makes no sense either. Almost like they intended for Hawke to die in the Fade and that be the end of them. If they survive they just need to be shooed off screen.[/spoilers]

 

Just lay off on the cameos, Bioware. Obviously you're not getting it right.
