If anyone finds a video where someone initiated a conversation with Dorian, can you please point me to it? All the videos I've watched, either he wasn't recruited yet or they just never talked to him outside of his first appearance.

Found a channel full of early conversations with the advisors - the ones completely skipped by most let's play videos out there. I'm still checking the first one, Leliana's, and is pretty interesting but not hugely spoilery. It's very very early in the game:

I didn't ask for specific details, mostly because I didn't want to be too spoiled but I have been bothered if whether or not we could obligatory lose a companion. With that said, he did say there are difficult sections where he had to make some tough choices, just like any Bioware game -- however he ended the game with all 12 of them.
