So not an actual spoiler, but here's a pretty interesting theory on Blackwall.

 

So, in his recruitment video, he has no idea what's going on with the Wardens. Later on, he claims to have been fighting Darkspawn in Fereldan during the blight. He also evades a ton of questions, about both Wardens, and his past.

 

A theory right now is that he isn't actually a Grey Warden, but someone pretending to be one. Or wishing to be one. Which would explain why he's such a morally upstanding, heroic figure. When most Wardens are willing to do some pretty shady things to get **** done.

Also, I now have hope that people will stop calling the qunari kossith now, but I'm probably deceiving myself.

I never liked that to be honest. They stopped being Kossith when all there ancestors converted to the Qun and became Qunari. Kossith probably had their own culture, one long dead.

There's that letter in World of Thedas signed by Warden Constable Blackwall saying he's in Orlais and Loghain closed the borders to Wardens so they can't go there. But in those videos he says he was in Ferelden during the Blight as a recruiter. And it's most puzzling that he was there and never contacted the Wardens, not even after word spread about where they were and given that he had to know Wardens were needed to kill the Archdemon. It's also conspicuous that we got to ask several people about the Hero and 5th Blight situations, but he said he was there fighting random darkspawn and we had to leave it at that.

I agree. But now Bull says they probably didn't even look like qunari so maybe we can put the whole argument to rest?

I mean, if he is lieing I don't have a huge issue with it. He was using the influence that came with it to help people.

Hahaha yes. Against all expectation, the first flirt with Bull is one of the subtlest ones I've seen so far. Very nice too.

Okay see, that was the one that I didn't think was a flirt at all. I guess if she meant it in a "where is this relationship going" way it would be nuts, but it seemed like she meant, "Thanks, but you were no help after all so I'm leaving to find answers" since she's walking away. I don't get it.

 

Your interpretation does make more sense though if that's supposed to be a romantic choice. I still think what she says and does is odd.

Well, it has the heart icon *and* wasn't available for that male qunari... He could just say Blackwall hadn't been helpful and walk away, no glance, no us. In fact, the option he chose is exactly what you interpreted for this one xD

Another issue is his take on the wardens is wrong too. Wardens just don't disappear after the blight or do nothing. We saw that in DA:A, DA2 and Last Flight. Wardens are still very active yet he seems oblivious to the fact even though the Blackwall we know from historic records had him at a high ranking rank.

 

There's also the fact about his armor. A true warden would not really be wearing something like that, even if you where a recruiter. It yells "I'm just a farmer cosplaying!"

I'm indifferent about the Blackwall thing

After seeing some new evidence I think it might actually be true.

 

Which I find both disappointing and hilarious. Blackwall is the Conrad Verner of Inquisition!

 

At least if it's true that means that he won't be going off to his calling and is much more likely to have a happy ending.

My guess is that we only get a couple flirts, not all of them, when the character isn't a possible LI. But it could be different writers opted not to script them...

LOL....it is starting to look like two of the "safer" choices for romance, might just be Josephine and Cullen. (though, who knows how Cullen is fairly with the lyrium issue. )
