In all seriousness, if "The Elder One" is actually who I think it is, I am just done, for real this time. I will be so insanely disappointed.
Spoiler
Then you might want to say your good byes now because thats who it actually is :-)

im happy about the bad guy being who he is , BTW there is SPOILER in the title so you know not to read if you dont ....well want to get spoiled :-)
Anyways whats not bad ass about one of the strongest Magister in all of thedas , one that actually went to the black city and from whom darkspawns were born ? people just complain about everything. Cory is bad ass and will be even stronger now than he was in legacy as he had just woken up and was weak then.
Will be interesting how the inquisition deal with him.
Yeah, I didn't even notice the spoiler-free scuttlebutt. :P
But I agree with you, meeting him again will be very interesting. I don't know, I just thought it would be someone/thing else, but I kinda saw it coming since the Enemy of Thedas trailer.

O yes i totally forgot about that.
The final antagonist is Niftu Cal...
Seen the achievement, still hope there's more to it. He may be the final boss, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the ultimate antagonist.Spoiler

He isn't the main main villain, but he is the main villain of Inquisition and the antagonist. The main main villain is what is summoned at the end of the game, and who you see just before the game ends on a cliffhanger, Marvel-esque scene.

And how is this supposed to work with postgame content?
If he's the big boss, I'm happy. And maybe this means they'll actually release an expansion.

Don't ask me, but that's literally what happens, according to reviews and the guy on neogaf who reached 'endgame'. The game ends on a post-credit scene cliffhanger according to them, setting up expansions for Inquisition itself and/or the next Dragon Age game.
Okay can someone without spoiling it, please tell me who the final boss is !!!?
At this point the physical damage from abusing drugs must be affecting you?

Beginning to understand why people think the plot is a bit lacking. You spend all those hours fighting an enemy, only to realize you already know who it is, then only to realize hes just a pawn and the real bad guy never gets addressed because more money. Then you get Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money. How wonderful...<.<
he is Bhodan unpredictable......

EA has done it before, with Dead Space 3.
Here is what I think about the final boss:
BTW, I don't think the possibility that the plot we're dealing with in DAI wasn't the whole picture is in any way detrimental to the story. In fact, the idea of an overarching story arc that connects all the DA games appeals greatly to me, and that makes it necessary that new questions arise at the end of the game, or some old ones remain unanswered.

10 Marvel movies and 1 TV show later and I am tired of the Marvel "cliffhanger" formula. No offense.
All right, so it's a cliffhanger that occurs after the Inquisitor leaves the scene? That's more tolerable.
That is the legend. In truth, no one knows what happens to the Old God who is killed by a Grey Warden. It could be their soul is obliterated or it could be it is banished deep into the fade. Bioware has said "the Elder One has been hatching this plan for a long time". It may be it's not Dumat, but it's as interesting a theory as some of the others floating around.
Guess I will find out for myself soon enough.
i hope so i dont like the void, i want to go into the heaven...... to me all the old gods can survive gladly if the final blow just banished their soul. But i dont think so.... maybe if someday Gharael show himself into the fade then i can belive to this theory, but to me ultimate means ultimate...
Personally, I don't see the problem that some of you are having here. The fact that Bioware may have an overarching strategy within this franchise seems quite eloquent to me. Of all the "potential" snippets discussed within this thread, the one that most intrigues me is there being a cliffhanger "reveal" setting up whatever comes next. Particularly if it occurs post credits, like plenty of genre films do these days. Face it, if we're here discussing a fantasy game, we probably have grown comfortable with this type of event-based storytelling conceit (for better or worse).
I think that this could prove to be fantastic news!
Long time forum participants already understand that there is a significant amount of traffic here that seemingly exists in a hotwired state prepared to be ticked off about "something" no matter what the company does?

Maybe some of these people are like that. Personally I am someone who has simply been disappointed by said companies products several times in a row. I also decided, due to the advertising suggesting a NEW and vastly more interesting antagonist to give them another shot, And to me, and me alone, the fact that instead of something new and refreshing, it's the same damn guy we've seen before disappoints me.
So Dragon age 4 will be a mega blight then from the sounds of it. ![]()

Well, what do you want? A set of completely disconnected self-contained stories set in the same world?
Not my preference. The Marvel setup is unsatisfactory because they don't know where they're going and there will never be an end to the chain, but the DA team knows where their overarching story will end, if they'll be able to make the games. At least that's what was said in some interview a few months ago.

Gods cannot die, deal with it. Garahel was just a mortal. He is worthless next to an old god.
