I keep listening to loads and loads of OST music, and I'm looking to diversify.

What games are known for their great original soundtracks?

Currently, I got all I want from Civ 5, Metal Gear Rising:Revengeance, and Rome Total War.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and The Last of Us are two of my personal favorites.

EDIT: Also the BlazBlue series is killer if you are into that sort of thing.

The Witcher games have amazing soundtracks, especially the first game. And since you're looking for diversity, I'd also suggest to take a look at Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

Edit: Then there's also good oldies like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. I also liked quite a few soundtracks from The Cat Lady.

Guild Wars

Legend of Mana

Lost Odyssey

Any Final Fantasy, but Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles in particular for me

Chrono Cross

Dragon Age Inquisition is sounding like an amazing soundtrack. Trevor Morris was an excellent choice.

I'll mention a few, and then pick out a few of my favorite songs from each:

Heretic, a fantasy FPS which uses the Doom Engine: The Glacier & The Cathedral

Hexen, the sequel to Heretic: Shadow Wood

Hotline Miami: Miami Disco & Knock Knock

The original Deus Ex: NYC Streets & Oceanlab Complex

Stonekeep, a first-person RPG which was not well-received, but which I liked: Temple of Throggi & The Sewers

Chrono Trigger: Corridors of Time, Undersea Palace, & World Map 2300 AD

I could probably throw in some old NES tunes if I wanted, but I kinda feel like that's enough links for one post. :)

Assassin's Creed, 2, Brotherhood. (All very good listens IMO.)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Portal 2

Mirrors Edge

Dragon Age: Origins

Mass Effect 1-3

World Of Warcraft.  (I really enjoy the BC music as well as Wraith of the Lich King the most. But still good music across all the expansions. Take a listen to the Shadowmoon Valley music, really dark and ominous.)

Dark Souls

Lost Odyssey

Shadow of The Colossus (One of my favorite all time games ever....period...........of all time. And the music is great!)

The list goes on but those are the ones I either enjoy the most or listen to the most.

EDIT:

The Witcher games

And Elder Scrolls of course, can't believe I forgot those two!

A lot of great soundtracks out there, but I think Halo probably has the greatest set of music in gaming history. Martin O'Donnell really did an amazing job pulling out all the stops.

The Settlers III - Beautiful ambient/background tracks.

Freedom Fighters - Flat out amazing and catchy themes.

Crysis - Intro sounds familiar to DA fans? Because it's from the same group. Awesome tracks in there (Strickland's March!!!).

X³ Reunion/Terran Conflict & Albion Prelude - Almost exclusively ambient sounds, but most are so drop dead georgous you can listen to them for hours as you cruise through the game's massive space.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - No words, just links.

Mass Effect - The series soundtrack is good, but imho special sprops to the first one. Can't beat out nostalgia!

CnC: Red Alert 1 - Speaking of nostalgia *starts headbanging*

Would be amazed if it actually lets me post all those links.

Not gonna repost music already mentioned, but I love the ME2 OST. Just wanna get that out there.

I saw Rome: Total War's soundtrack mentioned. Not sure why. Vanilla Rome's music was kinda...bland? The fan mod Europa Barbarorum, among many other things, added an entirely new soundtrack that's well worth the time to download. I mean, listen to some of this stuff. Main Theme. Order and Chaos (Eastern Battle Music). Along the Shore (Barbarian Ambient Music).

Surprised also not to see any Ace Combat stuff here. Keiki Kobayashi and the team at Namco Sounds are spectacular at nailing epic fighter pilot music. Operation Bunker Shot was a mission flying top cover for a modern version of D-Day in Ace Combat 04 back in 2001. Ace Combat 5 went even more over the top with orchestral and choral work for the theme in its final battle, The Unsung War, and when the prequel Ace Combat Zero came out it remixed "The Unsung War" into one of the finest pieces of powerup music ever, Zero. Then, Ace Combat 6 rolled out a complete suite with an amazing centerpiece, The Liberation of Gracemeria.

Also, the Hell March from Command and Conquer: Red Alert and its sequels is immortal. My favorite version is the second one, but the other two are quite good. EDIT: Ninja'ed!

Something to ease the feeling of having gotten ninja'd.

Arcanum. If you have a thing for Violins, go for it.

DJ Hero 1, though avoid any of the later "Guitar Remixes". They're bad. The rest is great.

Vanilla WoW. The Expansions are great too, but I always fancied the first.

Jet Grind Radio, In Before Reezy.

Valkyrie Profile.

Quake, if you've into creepy ambience. Same deal with Alice.

Rock Band 1, 2, 3.

Beatmania IIDX 7th Style

Gothic 3 has a small, but magnificent soundtrack.

I'm also partial to FFT's soundtrack. Definitely more but I'm on my phone and those are the two that stick out to me right now.
