I did buy DAO long ago. However, my copy was in France and I live in Canada. Recently, the EA origin program enables us to collect this game for free. So, I decided to reinstall DAO buy downloading it.

Now, in the middle of the circle of magi's plot, we are supposed to be trapped inside the fade. And that was not the case. I didn't find the big demon and, instead, there was a fight.

Did EA make a huge modification of DAO ?

No, DAO is not really "worked on" anymore, I also doubt they would go in and completely remove that.

Are you saying you got through the whole Tower and didn't encounter the Sloth demon that sends you into the Fade? I think you don't encounter him til the last floor before the Harrowing Chamber

Correct! In the location I should encounter this sloth demon, I just had a fight instead.

hmm. that is... very odd. I honestly have no idea what could be causing that. I know there is a mod called "Skip the Fade", but even with that you are still sent into the fade. hmm...

I use no mod. I just installed the game (+ the prisoner of the stone).

Are you sure you found the right room? there is a big fight in a similar looking alcove before meeting Slothy... The one where you get the white runestone. there are a couple of Tranquil standing there. The sloth demon is on the 4th floor..

You know I've played a lot so yes. Moreover, the room you are speaking about can't be missed because it is a mandatory room to go upstairs (where stairs are.) And last point, there is an automatic save just before entering this room.

I was going to suggest what luna1124 did, but since that is not the case, it is most likely a glitch.

Is that a bug? Anyway I was playing a noble dwarf warrior. I'll check later using a elf mage if it was because of the dwarf but I'm wondering.

No, it should not matter which character you are playing.  I think it must be a bug or "glitch" in your game.  If you do not have the "skip the fade" mad in your game, there is no reason for that to be happening.  Do you, by any chance have an account on Nexus?  If so, there are some very good people on that site who might be able to help you.

You still get the quest.. "trapped in the fade" as a Dwarf. Something else must be wrong with your game. are you using a new save, or one you had from before?

Even with "skip-the-fade", the warden must still free all companions before final battle with the sloth demon in the fade.

I think I'll send a report to bioware in this case.

After you reinstalled the game, did you apply the 1.05 patch? This may not make a dif, but you never know...
