Low = very shiny
Ultra = very detailed

Ultra looks fantastic.
Still seems pretty decent on low, but luckily I should be able to run it on Ultra.
Still looks good on low. Looking at the benchmarks released, my 780 probably won't be able to crank everything up, but I'm thinking I'll be able to get a happy balance between high and ultra and the game will still look fab.
Looks like I will get 42 fps on ultra with my 970.
Those tests were based off un-optimized drivers, so I'm hoping it cranks it to 50.
Whoa, Low actually looks good.
Low still looks pretty good, some things are a bit shiny but its not a massive downgrade. Ultra looks smoother though and you can see some extra details that the lower setting lacks. At least people with lower end PCs won't suffer a huge drop in performance, which is good.
I think I will be able to run it on high at least (until my upgrade in December, then Ultra here I come).
Maker, help me! I need to unsee the 'low' preset hair, asap....
Please, make it so that I can play at 'high' or 'medium'...
Lego hair
What if I go medium? ![]()
As long as I get high enough to remove the hair-gloss 3000, I'll be happy.
Low looks great, but good god, that hair!
it looks like crap
Don't get me wrong tho, it matters not, I'll be crying tears of joy if I get it running even on low ![]()
Is Low a good indication of what the Xbox 360 will look like? or will it be worse?

Low is probably worse than 360/ps3. Since xbox360 and ps3 are consoles and have no variation in hardware it is easier to optimize for them than for PCs.
I imagine low is how it'll look on 360. Maybe slightly better? I don't think it can be worse.
If so, I'm happy with this. Not great, but as good as I expected.

why would it be worse? If anything, it would be somewhere in between the 2
Yea other than more detailed textures, the only real difference I notice (in a youtube video at least) is the lighting. In fact, that's the only thing that had me cringing on low, reflective hair like it was made of plastic, lol.
Everything else looks good in low too except the hair! It's so hideous on low, just shiny plastic :S
I wonder if low is what it's going to be on PS3 since still haven't seen anything about PS3.
Low definitely doesn't look that terrible (other than the shiny hair, obviously), which is good for me since I'll be playing the game on a mix of Low and Medium so my computer can run it.
Woah, that plastic hair looks really horrible. If I have to, I'll turn the resolution down to 720p to avoid it, but I never want to see that again.
It's like roadkill: you cannot not look at it.

For serious. Of all the differences between Ultra and Low the hair is the worst, and the lingering spark effects from spells are one of the coolest.
wow, thanks to no post processing and the reduced effects low looks a lot better than ultra....
A lot of the difference was was the anti-aliasing from comparing the two. I think you might be able to have the smoother look while running on lower settings, just turn on anti-aliasing
.
A Bioware representative on Reddit said that PC low is pretty close to PS3/XB360 graphics. Which I'm totally fine with because low looks really good for what it is minus the Lego hair.
Low doesn't look at bad except for the shine on the hair.
How does Low look so good?
