I'd like to know how good ME2 will run on my pc:

Windows xp sp3
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+, 3 GHz
2GB ram ddr2
Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT (512 MB)

That depends...

I have the exact same config, except my processor is a single core at 2.9Ghz, and it should run decently but its laggy as heck(Unplayable). If I crank all the settings up its smoother than if I turn all the settings down. I've been trying to work a way around this for 20 hours now. /Bonk

I'd say it depends mainly on your OS. If you're running XP or Windows 7 I'd say the game will run fine. If you're running Vista you'll probably experience some slowdowns here and there and loading times may be a bit slower, but overall performance should still be fairly good.

edit: to kyle - ME2 doesn't seem to support single-core processors at all, so that'll be the root cause of your problem. There are some threads out there on how to improve the performance a bit, but I doubt you'll ever get it to run well without upgrading to at least a dual-core.

Jhengo, I think it should run pretty decently. Even though the Athlon 64s aren't quite as good as Core 2s, 3 GHz of Athlon 64 X2 should be over the recommended spec. And the 8800 GT is the recommended video card I think, so you're good there too.

Update:

Certain area run flawless, but others run at about 1 frame every 5 seconds.
