The dwarven Silent Sisters have a bare hand combat techniques, and seeing how Utha fare in The Calling, it may be very interesting to develop a skill tree/specialization for bare hand combat.

Or in other case, claws might be nice.

Bare hand techniques might use "lock down" techniques, bring them down but not hurting them too much. It can also kill.

you know...i find any ideas about hand weapons or hand combat in general as stupid ones.

because of many reasons. and those reasons are sharp, blunt, twohanded, double edged etc.

As cool as going kung-fu on someone sounds I would much prefer to take on a dragon with a hefty blade

You mean like the combat in Jade Empire?

Hand to hand combat can be tricky to get right and I'd rather there be a whole game devoted to it rather than it be another skill tree in DA

I mean like Utha's fighting in The Calling. They mentionned in DA:O about the Silent Sisters going barehanded. Just an idea though, actually bare handed can be a great specialization since IMO they can allow to bring an enemy down but giving the option with not hurting them, just to bring them down to a locked down position. That might especially be useful for bards & spies & all situations when you got caught & not having lots of weapons. I've seen some cool moves on The Bourne series & some other recent films, quite practical actually.

I think it sounds cool in practice but considering Thedas, for the most part, is based off of medieval warfare, it would be difficult to implement lore wise. Most people fight with pikes, swords, maces, bows and magic and probably wouldn't consider unarmed brawling in the first place (even Origins/DA2's tavern brawl was settled with martial weapons). Also, the Silent Sisters seem like a very isolated, very specific group that even most dwarven groups wouldn't consider fighting unarmed.

However, a Silent Sister companion with a unique skill tree spec wouldn't be such a bad idea. Like Varric, she has one 'default' style (unarmed, she can't equip weapons) but she can be specced as an archer as well. Of course, given she's silent, it'd be better to reserve her as a DLC companion. (Would love and hate to see Vivienne/Dorian's remarks, probably not the nicest, while she'd probably earn Iron Bull and Cass' respect given her toughness and dedication).

Nah, I'd rather see barehanded fighting come about in a entirely different game *cough*Jade Empire 2*cough*.

Besides that, what would the fighting style look like, would it resemble boxing with some wrestling style moves as activated powers?

The claws would be a fun weapon to have, but since it requires an entirely new animation set I can see why they don't have it.

We had claws as weapons with the Shapeshifter back in DA:O and it wasn't that good. As for unarmed fighting style, in the ancient world unarmed fighting style was only used as the last resort (i.e. when you've lost your weapons). On a battlefield weapons will always have advantages over fists.

Personally I would like to see some kicks incorporated into the Rogue class.

Nothing flashy just simple techniques like a side kick to the knee to off balance an enemy or a good front kick to the groin.
