Maybe... scintilla did you get to the part where we find out
Very minor spoiler about Cass:
I haven't seen that yet, no! I've skipped around the stream a bit but I'm watching the Ball part now.
It's there early on, maybe you skipped ahead of it.
I saw it! I love Cassandra's response. I want to know how all the others are announced now.
Yeah, me too. Too bad the guy playing rushes ahead and cuts off the ambient dialogue all the time.
I can understand why he's doing it but it is getting frustrating. I want to listen to everyone.
Varric saying "I don't have a knack for romances," is definitely a wink at fans.
When does he say that?
I never gave him the piece of the idol in my main playthrough ...I have a second world state with my rogue LOLZ4ever Hawke who let him keep it.
I really liked that Hawke (he was a bit of a moron though^^ ) , and I'm planning on using this worldstate eventually but ...Damn, I'm not sure I will keep this choice.
Varric has to be alive and well by the end of DAI .
Anyway the lyrium idol was bad news , and now I wonder if there's going to be anything about Merrill and her eluvian.
When does he say that?
I saw it in a stream. The player talked to him in Haven, so early on. He lies about where Bianca came from too.

Well considering the fact that it caused Bartrand to murder everyone and stuff lyrium down their throats lets not forget it weakening the veil but man those rune slots. XD
Honestly I never knew that letting Varric keep it gives him three rune slots cause role play wise I could never come up with a good enough reason to let him keep it. Plus it was clearly effecting him near the end of the mission.
Its kinda crazy how a lot of the companions and advisor's can end up worse off than when they first met you depending on your choices.
Yeah, I never gave Varric the shard in DA 2 because of the insanity, so I never knew about the rune slots until I read of them on the forums.
but I LOVED having all those extra slots to play around with, on Bianca.
I'm sure that's what he said, too. If you know what I mean. *wink wink nudge nudge* ![]()
But this whole Varric rune = unavoidable tragedy in DAI makes me think of
Mass Effect 2 and 3 spoilers
@Dragonracer
Spoiler
Hrmm....not much a "spoiler", on my part. Oh well. Monkey see, monkey do.![]()
Well, I love the Keep for two reasons:
1. As a console player, I don't have any Master Race perks such as mods and file editors
and
2. As much as I adore replaying older games, it can be a chore to want to go back through two games' worth of content just to see how a different decision plays out in the next one. Being able to simply swap a tile, then import into a new game of DAI is much more appealing than a scenario of: replay DAO to change a decision --> import into DA2 to carry the import over --> theoretically import into DAI had the Keep not been created + dealing with messed up plot flags. *whew*
I suppose its a good thing I only let him keep it in my scumbag playthroughs. Not looking forward to when I play those world states
Considering the relationship that cassandra and varric share and her general outlook I expect HUGE approval loss from her if you allow the demon to use Varric body. (If that part of the spoiler is true.) Hell seeing how far bioware is going with how bad things can turn out it would not surprise me that she might end the romance.
Darn it... I let him keep the shard in my first playthrough... ;w; Way too late to change it now and I'd stop playing entirely if I had to start over... Soooo, see it once and NEVER AGAIN - kind of like the choice to put Harrowmont on throne for me. Ah well....
So I double checked the Keep. And in the keep "Varric did not keep red lyrium idol". There. Plain as day. Clear as a soft whistle in soundless wind.
So tell me, why in the insert four stars here does the party selection screen show the red card of doom and gloom and insanity?
Whyyyyyyy is thiiiiiiiis haaaaaappppppppeeennniiiiiiiiiing tooooooo meeeeeeeeeeeeee!?

I don't think the card thing is a bug either. Well obviously its a bug or it would have read the Keep properly. But it's not just an appearance bug because Ser Chest With the Hair has decided that talking to me is a waste of time since he'd rather write letters. And he was always willing to talk to me before the whole Adamant Fortress mission.
Maybe it's a low approval thing? What happened in Adamant Fortress?
Well, I did exile the Wardens which he didn't like, but I also saved Hawke which he gave approval for when I talked to him after we got back. Then he joked about how he was glad that he didn't tell Fenris in person about where Hawke was going and decided to write letters. Now that's all he wants to do apparently.
He has liked me throughout the game thus far so I don't think it's low approval.
And now he's being friendly-ish again since I left and came back and you know who showed up. But the card is still gloomy.
I had that card too, it changed after I did his personal quest.
I guess it is to show that red lyrium has poisoned things he loved (like his brother).
Oh and his personal quest broke my heart
