OK..hello everyone,

I played Dragon Age Origins back in 2009 when it first came out, I didn't play the Witch Hunt DLC. I began prepping for Inquisitions release on the 18th in the Keep and I wanted to make a decision on the Eluvian Mirror but I was a little miffed if this DLC should be possible for my character as I refused to have the child with Morrigan and I sacrificed myself to defeat the Archdemom.

So I guess my question is if these where the choices your character made and you downloaded the Witch Hunt DLC how does Bioware explain you being alive after the final battle with the Archdemon to go after Morrigan?   Can anyone shed some light on this for me, I'm trying to avoid hooking up my old xbox360 just to get an answer for this.

Hi,

If I never played the DLC.. I left the choices blank... Like I played all the DLC for origins, but none for DA2.  In other-words if your warden is dead in your world-state, there would be no OGB or witch hunt for you.. Your warden did not go through the Eluvian with Morrigan.

I was confused in DA2 because I have no idea who some of the people are or what my choices would have been.

But what if I bought the DLC? would I be unable to play it?

I don't know...  You would probably be able to do the same as with the other stand-alone DLC.. import a warden or create a new one? I think you can play Awakening with a dead warden... kind of messes it all up, huh?

I don't think you are "stopped" from playing any of the DLC...

I think you can just create a new warden and start from scratch if you are interested in changing some of your choices.  That way, if you are either unsure of what you did, or if you want to try different choices; now you have the opportunity to do it here.  I'm not sure if that entirely answers your question; and I'm not even sure if I am correct.  But that is how I have been looking at it.

How it works in the keep:

If you set that your warden died in the final battle, then the First Warden sent another Warden from Orlais to take over Amaranthine and do the DLC quests. Pick what choices you like. (Except that the OW went throught the Eluvian, because that will cause your device to light on fire and eat your skittles.)

How it works in game:

If you import warden who dies, your Dark Ritual decision will be changed (they assume you did the ritual) and the dialog will mark you as the Hero of Ferelden.

If you start a new game, you'll play as the warden from Orlais and get appropriate dialog for that scenario.

Yes I'm editing some of my choices and I like Morrigan (Claudia Black ) so I wanted to go through the mirror... but looking at my storyline that shouldn't be possible. There doesn't seem to be a logical explanation that I can find to explain how this would actually be possible. Again I didn't play the DLC, so if anyone with a similar story to mine who did what was the explanation for still being alive?

▲ Edit: Thank you Krypplingz... all my skittles? :?

All the skittles. And some of those M&M's you didn't know you had.

But stepping through the mirror was the only invalid choice you could make for the DLC's after the main campaign. They seem to have fixed it now, so all the sweets are safe for now.

I played a couple of different games for my Daughter to have to import into DA2 and on one I didn't romance her and died, but then wanted to do Witch Hunt for her for the achievements and the neat stuff you get in all new games too. So I imported the Elf who died and at the mirror she told him that when he denied her, she had to use other means (so am thinking perhaps she found another warden?). There is no explanation for a warden dying, same with if you use a character that died and imported into Awakening. I guess they figured most people would opt to save their character, but those are loopholes you get when you have a game with so many possible endings and you make DLC's and expansion packs.

You can play Witch Hunt with a new character whether your Warden is alive or dead.
