The Omniblade was silly. A hologram that can cut through steel? Puuhlease.

'' The most common melee design is the "omni-blade," a disposable silicon-carbide weapon flash-forged by the tool's mini-fabricator. The transparent, nearly diamond-hard blade is created and suspended in a mass effect field safely away from the user's skin. Warning lights illuminate the field so the searing-hot blade only burns what it is intended to: the opponent. ''

The Omni-Blade wasn't silly. I hope this helps you understand.

I'd say Omniblades sound more realistic than SW's super iconic light sabers. So before you assburger about Omniblades go give it to those stupid lasers stoping mid air for no reason.

No need to get butthurt because you guys have problems detecting sarcasm.

We already had this "hard light" discussion. Omniblades use Mass Effect fields just like most of the other weapons in the ME universe.

There is no feeling that the blade is a hard object, according to the wiki it's disposable but all we see is that it disappears after the strike. To stay true to its own description it should've either got stuck in the target or dropped on the ground after being used, not just disappear like a hologram. To reinforce the hologram feel, omni-tool interface is holographic.
That mini-fabricator idea was BS to begin with IMO.

I'm actually in the "Let's not have an omni blade" camp.  Actually, I'm in the "Let's not have a blade at all" camp.

While having a blade was nice in ME3, it was a little too nice.  I know of people that could clear a board in ME3MP with just the Omni blade alone, at least it seems.

You can do it in single player as well. See the link in my signature
