OK, I do apologize if this has been asked, I tried to run a search but could find nothing about this topic. I have both copies of Dragon Age, Origin I purchased some time ago on Steam and I purchased Dragon Age 2 on Origin. I have never had any issue transfering games from DA:O to DA2 despite this variation in engines, but recently tried the online "Keep" mini-game on the Inquisition website and realized I was incapable of finding my Character from the DA:O campaign I have saved, it only seemed to search for the Origin save files I'd made and since I don't have any DA:O save files on my Origin account there was nothing there.
My question is, will this end up being an issue when Inquisition comes out? I figured it wouldn't since it wasn't a problem when transfering saves from DA:O to DA2, I had kind of figured the DA2 endgame save would just automatically keep the information that had been transfered to it, are we going to have to upload two SEPERATE save files when our copy of Inquisition is released, or will my DA:O info be saved in my DA2 files by virtue of my having already used them when making my DA2 character? Spent ages building up the story I wanted for DA:O and it would really rather suck if I couldn't use any of it simply because I happened to buy it on Steam rather than Orgin. Consequently, this is all referring to the PC versions of the game of course. Thanks for any help.

The Keep doesn't import save files, so you recreate all of the decisions by hand. This makes it easier (though time consuming) for people who have saves under different accounts, platforms, etc.

OK, makes more sense, so that's just a browser-based thing then and won't carry over to the whole game? Just kind of threw me for a loop there when it asked for character's I wanted to use in the keep.
thanks for the help.

Yes, it does 'carry over' to DAI. That's the whole point of the Keep. To create world-states for you to import into DAI.
It doesn't read DAO, DAA and DA2 world states into the Keep, as (I feel) it should have. It just syncs in their name and character portrait.

OK, would that be something I'd be able to write off though and use my actual DA2 save state to carry into Inquisition? And will that DA2 save state carry the information from the DA:O and DA:A games I'd used to start my DA2 campaign or will I need two seperate saves from both games to be able to start my Inquisition campaign? Would seem oddly and needlessly complicated...haven't found much info on that aspect of DAI really, lots of character and story info but actual technical info seems a bit less common, but maybe I'm just missing it all
thanks again...

Save Game Files Do NOT carry over into DA:I.
In Order for your World in DA:I to reflect the choices you made in DA:O and DA2 you will Need to set up your world in The "Keep"
you mentioned "Mini-Game". Now are you talking about The Last Court? or by "Mini-Game" do you mean the Tapestry?
There are around 300-some-odd choices that you can make in the "Keep" to reflect just about EVERY SINGLE Choice you made in DA:O and DA2.
or if you dont care so much, you can just play the Movie in the Keep and just change the major things on the fly when the movie prompts you to do so.
After you have finished making all the Choices you care about, you will need to Import the World State into DA:I, which this can all be done on the menu to the right side of the page on the "Keep"

There is no direct save import into DAI.
The Keep is the only way of getting choices from DAO and DA2 into DAI. And you have to manually set those choices in the Keep tapestry.

Well that's kind of weak, I wonder why they did that, I guess it makes things a little easier on the game makers but my dumb ass just spent hours running through both games in order to have the files I needed precisely for upload...I just figured it was going to be the same as Mass Effect or DA2 and now I find out my save files are all but useless lol

This was done to allow players who, like myself, played DA:O and DA2 on different systems, to help them bring there choices into DA:I
It was a very smart move on Bioware's part, and going through the keep you have a chance to quickly make changes to your World State, if you so choose, In order to try different World State options to see all the different effects it will have on DA:I, to give the player Multiple playthrough options with different choices spaning the DA Series.
If you connect your XboxLive/PSN account to your Origin Account you can link some Achievements and records of DLCs to your "Keep".
I'm not sure if having any of the achievements linked will effect your World State or thou.

I don't even have an XBoxLive or PSN account as far as I know, I played both games exclusively on PC, unfortunately the keep doesn't seem to recognize any of my saves from DA:O, it recognizes my DA2 saves but my DA:O saves are all on Steam and they don't appear in the character list at all...

because you played on Steam, you would have to play the game on Origin for it to show up in the keep.

Yeah, see, that just seems bloody weak, I paid the same price, invested in all the DLC and lined Biowares pockets just the same as I did when I bought DA2 on Origin...*shrug* sounds like I don't even need to have played the first two to set up the world anyway though so it doesn't really matter, but just seems cheap or kind of ridiculous to only support some saves because a specific "buffer" company was used to buy the game when the money all winds up in the same place anyway...*shrug*

That's incorrect, the game was on Steam first back when Origin was a company. No saves go into the keep at all. They used to go on the legacy BSN bit even that was hit and miss. Disabling console might help.
Achievments have no effect on DA:I. If you really want a character just download and use the stand alone character creator. I dont know if DA2 has one, but when renaming is added then you dont need that at all.

You don't need to have played on Origin.
You just need to play while linked to your BSN account (which was later linked to Origin).
If you start up DAO and go into settings, you should be able to change the email the account is associated with. Switch it to the same one you used for BSN/Origins.
Then open up a saved game and let the system sync with BSN.
Should show up next time you run the Keep.
edit:
Not that any of that makes any difference with save files.
It just sync character names, their profile pic, and any unlocked achievements.

It should but dont pin your hopes on seeing the characters appear. Nothing else will be transferred (aside from achievements)
