I crossed this article today on Gamasutra, and it is about the writing of DA2 as told by David Gaider; thought some here would enjoy it (3 pages long):

it would be better if they had take a look around at EARTHBOUND saga on how a "dark heroic" writting should be done instead of trying to mimic Myer's works and add some nietzche philosophy...

The experiment was a complete failure but some people insists in buying this "experiment excuse"... I won't buy it, DA2 failed at every aspect and story is on the head of the list

You are also subjective and, in my opinion, wrong, but that's what happens when we interpret art and literature.

I still maintain Dragon Age 2 is better plotted than Origins and Mass Effect in most cases...but considering its a smaller-scale, quieter story focused on characterization over far-reaching plotlines, not to mention it has a low-fantasy twinge ironically enough, I am very biased in this case because that stuff appeals to me more than high fantasy styled stories.

It is why I have some reservations with Inquisition honestly, I feel like they are pushing it too hard into that "save the world" realm which I always felt is a bit cheap. Well see, though.

@Dekarserverbot

As if THAT wasn't a pert response.

Yes, I agree that DA2 had failings, but it also had its upsides. If they had allowed some of our choices to matter more, it might not have been that bad of a story.

No thanks, I hate that game.

Is that supposed to be an insult? I expect better.
