I'm in a bit of a pickle too.  I know I want to play a female human first, but I'm not sure whether to play as a rogue archer or a mage.  The Archer class and the mage abilities just look so cool.

Well given that I know little to nothing about the schools for mages I'll figure that out once I have the game in my hand. All I know is my mage will be a knight enchanter.

For my first play through its going to be a human female mage.( this also goes for my female elf mage)
My issue is what school I'm picking is the hard part. Either ice or fire or a combination of the schools.

My archer female human or elf (same class) is a lot easier thank god for that .


Any else one having this problem(s)?

 

Well I assume you know about the schools since you named them.

 

Fire is more damage-oriented while frost definitely leans more towards the support side. Both have CC.

 

Do you wanna nuke or freeze people?

Hoping I figure something out by the time I have the game in hand...

 

Originally going for fem dwarf rogue (most like me) ... but romance options ruined this choice (I don't like feeling like a chihuahua next to a great dane)....so...

 

An elven fem rogue maybe?...wish this game had dark elves.

I was able to decide gender and race easily, but couldn't decide on which class for a while. I really wanted to play a mage, but ended up falling back on my traditional 2h warrior first run.

So I'm going to play a mage for the first time in my canon playthrough but I keep swinging back and forth on which race to play as.

 

I have a feeling I'll be sitting at the character creation screen for freaking HOURS pondering over this.

Well I know I want to be an male rogue assassin and have my LI Dorian , I just don't know whether to be a Qunari or Human

Don't think about it too much, just go with the flow. Wing it. Just pick whatever floats your boat every time you level up and you'll most likely end up just fine. That's what I always do at least!

I tend to lean towards ice over fire. Freezing enemies gives you time for your party to react and it controls the board more. Plus I love shattering frozen enemies... Am I the only person disappointed cone of cold will not be making an appearance (my main go to spell in the other games).
