Just a silly, quick question:
Is the save system the same for Inquisition as it was for DA2 and DA:O? Meaning, you save whenever/wherever you prefer, in addition to auto-saves?

Yes. Auto saves are on a timer unless something is interrupting it (like a conversation) every.... minute or so? (it's a longer delay on 360 and PS3 as the save takes longer... you can keep playing but the game was in a perpetual state of saving I think
)
We also have milestone saves which are not too frequent, after big story points are reached.
And then yes, manual saves.
You can't save while in a conversation/cutscene or in combat, though.
So you can have a specific save point for one's own reasons. Sometimes you want to replay a part easily. Sometimes you want to keep the legacy just in case something bad happens in the playthrough and the autosave puts you in a precarious position where the manual save will save you more time rather than fast traveling back to camp to resupply.
