Mass Effect 1 needs a patch to address the Blocked out textures that appear with computers running newer AMD processors. You are still selling the game. You are still making money on those sales. Thousands of people are having this problem and still no fix. If you are not going to patch the game, then quit selling it. I personally will not be buying anything from Bioware or EA until something is done about this. And don't think you have a game that I have got to play, because you don't. EA already has a bad rep and this kind of lack of support isn't helping improve that.

Well, you could always Download a Free Texture Improvement Mod, like this:

I bought 1,2 and 3 a few months back after playing Mass Effect 1 on a friends computer. Great games and yes, I would also purchase the HD versions if priced right. I am not saying that Bioware is to blame for the problem. I am saying that if they are going to continue selling Mass Effect 1 they owe it to the loyal gaming community to patch it. After all we are the ones who support the developers. We are the reason for Mass Effect 2 and 3 and possibly 4. It's called appreciation and I don't feel like I'm getting the thank you I deserve. If I was the only one having this problem, I wouldn't be complaining but there are 1,000s of gamers with the same glitch. There is a workaround and I used that to finish the game, but it looked awful and ruined the emersion. And just so nobody thinks I am some young punk bitching, I am 60 years young and love pc gaming.

There is a workaround in the meantime you can use on PC and that is using the in game console and use the command viewmode unlit and then viewmodelit when your past the dodgy section in the areas where you encounter this problem i9t's a problem with the lighting programming I think. Happens to me through part of the Noveria mission and then again at Ilos. Fortunately ME2 and 3 perform fine but I do agree that ME1 does and most likely will need some attention before being given to the new consoles if they aer going to pursue this.
It's likely you will need to activate the console first though
Here's a vid on how to do that which I used
