There are standard attacks.  Watch some of the videos.  I'm guessing you just watched that one SP gameplay demo with a dual-wield rogue inquisitor?  Not sure why, but for some reason he didn't use the standard attack.  But don't worry, it is there.

There are standard attacks. That flurry that the mages do is the standard attack, in case you're wondering.

There are "standard attacks". You have to continuously push or hold attack button to engage them, though, so get that arthritis treatment ready.

You can also pull off combo attacks by completing a standard attack cycle.

yea and cross class combos form various magic skill combos like freezing knockback

There are standard attacks. There are no "guns" however. Either magic, swords/daggers or similar melee weapons and Bows.
