He's not going to be in my party often, if at all. Am I the minority on this?
Am I the only one who honestly doesn't give a crap about Cole?

All these topics about Cole seems like you actually do care about Cole
It would make it look that way, wouldn't it ![]()

Not at all, my friend. Him, sera, and viv are the charterers I can see myself using the least. I prefer varric to these two rogues. Cole to me just isn't someone I can see myself growing attached to. The spirit/demon possessing the boy seems interesting, but after having anders in my party the whole time in my cannon DA2 playthrough I have had my share of demons. I will only be using him on later playthroughs or if I feel a particular mission would benefit from having a demon present.

You're definitely not the only one, the older Cole threads used to be full of everyone talking about how much they wanted to murder him. I enjoyed reading about him in Asunder and I'm expecting him to be one of my favorite companions.

You can tell him to leave altogether, if you don't want him. So there you go.

It's actually the opposite direction for me.
At first, when he was announced as a companion, I didn't have any reason to be interested in him because I didn't read the book. I thought his hat was really big and funny but that was about it. My interest meter went up a bit when I saw him in some videos and read a short paragraph about his character (the latter is what really piqued my curiosity... I would definitely like to learn more about him. I'm definitely expediting him to the second playthrough if I don't keep him in the party in my first run.

I really disliked Cole after Asunder, I guess I might still do, but I'm keeping an open mind toawrds him in Inqusition. Unless he's thoroughly unsettling or someone in my party has a direct problem with him I will have him join.

Not sure yet because he's the one person I know almost nothing about, but if he turns out to be like Fenris I will do everything in my power to make his time around me a living hell.

I'm not fond of his mysterious, "otherworldly" history. I'll use him, but I'm honestly not invested in his story.
He feels too much like an… oddity. I'll try him out though.
I also have no intention of utilizing Sera. I'm super psyched that Varric is back, so I'm not worried about being down a rogue. He's my go-to rogue.

Well... eventually when you bring your companions with you and through party banter you'll unlock a side quest from them.

If you don't care about him, why talk about him?
I don't have any really strong emotions on Sera thus far. She seems like she'll be there and not hideously annoying or interesting.
I express this opinion by not posting anything about her as a general rule. I like Cole, partially because I have an inherent weakness for ridiculous hats, and it seems Cole is king of the silly hat people, which makes him instant gold. And he seems adorbs, which is a plus. There should always be one younger character who just doesn't entirely get it, so that when they die in combat, I'm incentivized to murder the dragon that much harder for revenge.
I dunno, maybe I'll have more in the way of opinion once the game comes out.

I didn't, until I read Asunder. Now I'm tentatively intrigued. I think he'll be really interesting in the game, but I doubt he's someone I'm going to be using much in subsequent games. Right now he's in 8th above Solas on my preemptive favorite companions list.

I think I must be fan-basing wrong. I had no problem with Cole in Asunder (in fact he's probably my favourite new companion). And whether or not I like him doesn't matter. I take whoever my INQUISITOR would take. Am I playing an anti-magic 'no demons everrr' character? Cole dies. 'Great good' character? Cole lives. etc

If you don't give a crap about me not giving a crap about you not giving a crap about character x,y,z, then we are all good!

I don't much care for any of the companions, as of now. (Besides maybe Varric.) I'll wait to play the game before passing judgement.

I'll bring him just because he will be my only dual wielding rogue. But as for his personality, I have to wait until I play. Only character I'm feeling iffy about is Cullen, he seem as though he will annoy me.

You can give Sera or Varric daggers.

There's a thread of your top 3 companions and bottom 3 companions... Cole is featured in many a bottom 3, so no, you're not the only one. This thread is silly.
