So I have narrowed it down to either a human male warrior two handed spec Reaver or a male elf rogue dual dagger spec assassin. For my companions I will use all of them at some point but mostly it will be Cassandra(sword and shield), Vivienne(knight enchanter) and Sera(archer or dual dagger). What do you guys think? Thoughts?

Reaver has always been a tank warrior build (Both origins and you know what...)  I doubt it will be different now. But on the other hand, personally i hate twin dagger style, is for sissies and cheerleaders, so personally i will try a 2-H anything and see how it comes, just waiting for sunday night

Reaver was a dps build Champion/Templar was the Tank.

Reaver is the DPS Specialization in DAI.

 

It focus on losing HP for Damage increase. Not something you will choose for a Tank character.

(PS try to watch your words because calling something for sissies just because it favors agile gameplay is a strong thing to say in a bad way)

 

On Topic:

 

If you're playing Nightmare thenit is easier for Assassin since Reaver is a Double edge sword. 

 

As a Reaver your main focus will be to sacrifice your HP to keep up your Damage buff so you will not focus much on getting aggro but to avoid aggro so your HP doesn't drain too fast. 

 

Assassin has more passives that favors improving their Damage and doesn't depend on sacrificing their HP to maintain their Damage like Reaver.

Reaver all the way. I always found that assassin made things way too easy, and I like a challenge. My first playthrough will be a Tempest though.

Reaver is the closest and coolest thing compared to Blood Magic; Reaver ftw.
