For any wondering, I downloaded completely using no VPN client.  I then shut down Origin and installed VPN service and connected to Korea.  I then logged in to Origin (which had switched to the Korean client).  I then checked my play date which said Monday, 7am.  I am in the Pacific Time Zone (West Coast in the Americas).  That means it is unlocking 14 hours early.

 

So I wont know until Monday at 7am, but maybe you don't need to download with the VPN at all.  Just launch the Origin client after connecting to Korea on game day.

That only worked because you could preload since Friday anyway. People in Europe and Australia can only preload on Monday/Tuesday without a VPN.

Not really, because the log in data is encrypted.

 

But it doesn't hurt to be safe. Turn on login verification in Origin (Origin -> Account and Privacy -> Security -> Login Verification) - I use mobile phone verification, which is the safest. Also change your password after you have unlocked the game with a South Korean VPN.

um... you are making it sound as though using a vpn is something extraordinarily difficult. It was very easy to preload the game through a vpn and its going to be even easier to unlock it tomorrow. All i have to do is click a button to log on to the vpn and then log on to origin to click on DAI. Are we supposed to wait another 4 days when we can so easily unlock the game tomorrow?   .

I think its OK if you have slowish internet to use VPN so you can start pre-loading earlier, but I'd rather wait for day 1 patch before starting the game.

Whose to say it won't already be there? The unlock time we're using is Korea's, which means for them the game has officially launched. Are you saying they're not important people and don't "count" and thus won't be getting the day 1 patch for their... day 1?

yes but you live in a region where you can preload the 14th. Those of us in europe cant preload until the 17th, for me, it would be at 6pm here in sweden. Now i could have just waited for the 17th preloaded 6pm and then used the korean vpn to unlock afterwards, but id rather start playing as soon as possible, id lose about 2 hours of gameplay  my internet is fast and the vpn thing worked without a hitch. Btw for me its 4pm on monday, with the korean vpn, the time differs depending on your own location. Basically the equivalent of your current hour in your region to the korean one.

nah, im greedy i want to play as early as possible, and i have a fast internet connection. The day 1 patch is still going to come and it wont make much of a difference to the enjoyment of the game anyway.

You just need the VPN to unlock the game and then you can play , alt tab and disconnect the VPN.

You need to do that (launch Origin with the VPN) until the release date in your country.

Or maybe put Origin offline , but I'm not sure.

 

Anyway my point is you can disconnect the VPN while you play.You just need it to launch the Origin then the game.

Start the game up when connected via VPN. I believe you can disconnect/close the VPN once the game has booted.

People want to play a widely anticipated game as early as physically possible. There are ways to do so without breaking rules or laws. People are taking advantage of that.

I second this as well. I am  in pacific southwest of Canada and I downloaded it via origin normally then used a VPN client and saw the game launching monday at 7 am.

Most likely connected to Korea, from what I've seen they get the game the earliest. 

Also setting up a VPN is simple, if you downloaded and installed the VPN client + plugin  from the site provided at the link given in the OP then all you need to do is start up the client, double click on "VPN Gate Public VPN Relay Servers" then select one of the Korean servers and connect, all done.

I bought this via mexico vpn. preloaded on the us vpn. 

 

should i have preloaded in a korean vpn? or can i just login to a korean vpn tomorrow and start playing?

Although people doing this take a risk also. These server can keep log of what you do.

I am really debating on whether I should do this only because normally I would just wait until midnight.  But when midnight hits so I can download the game I will still be at work and I won't get home until 1:30.  Usually not a problem but I got to go back to work for 11:30am, hence the problem.  I am a worrier so I wouldbe thinking about everything that would go wrong lol.  Wish I could start the download from work that way I could play as soon as I got home lol
