Seoul, Korea is +9, and EST is -5. Earlier I read that it unlocks at 4 PM in south Korea on the 17th, which would mean it unlocks at 2 am EST, and even earlier on the west coast. Theoretically, if this information is true, you could be playing it sunday night.
That's when it unlocks for GMT.

Just to confirm something, if your pre-order is still bugged/stuck on processing (no money charged) will you be unable to use VPN to unlock it early? DA:I is in my game list but EA just wont charge me! Hell - Origin is even advertising DA:I for me ![]()

Heh ^^
I didnt really try to offend any americans here. I just find it a tad arrogant to use that time system on the official forum.
There are almost 200 countries in the world, where only 3 of them still uses the stoneage system for time and measurements.

Which, of course, is the whole point of a VPN ...

I honestly don't think it will make a difference. Especially not if you paid with credit card, they will get the money either way then.
If you use debit or something, they'll likely charge you when you start playing I guess.

Is it safe to cancel the pre-order and buy it again using paypal then? Because according to my transaction history - it says "Your product has been billed but waiting for some items" or something. I'm scared that if I should cancel the pre-order now, I could still get charged and end up with 2 copies? O.o

Officially confused. The pre-order I canceled went from processing to complete, while the new pre order is again stuck on processing. Turned out my other card had expired thought that was the issue. Seems paypal is the way to go if you cant play by VPN until your card gets charged.

D: I didn't order through Origins and the site I used says my code will be sent out on the 20th (Aus) what would my chances be of telling them I'm in Korea and need it on the 17th?
Did you buy a physical copy? Sell that one to a friend or cancel / get a refund. Then buy it digitally. Totally worth it to play 3 days earlier right?

Question: Went your payment already through? I ordered it via origin (dig. deluxe edition) but my payment is in progress, at least not done yet! (Germany here)
Would i also be able to pre download now? (have installed a vpnclient) I am a little afraid that i get in trouble with the payment terms!
Have you checked the question mark on the "in progress" status of your order? On my account it states "We've billed you for your order but some items may not have been delivered yet". So, the "in progress" should only refer to Origin's end of the deal that has not been completed. Unless you only recently preordered and can countercheck that the money has not yet been transferred.

Just checked my bank account and Origin has finally tapped me for the dough. It's still pending but that's a formality. Looks like I am good to go for pre-load tomorrow!

I didnt see an actual answer to this:
Do your payment process need to be completed? Do your payment need to have been charged on your card, for VPN early DL + Play to work?

Only 7 hours left to preload then!
But my question is still unanswered. Do you *HAVE* to be charged on your card before you can use VPN?
Is paypal mandatory if your pre-order is stuck on processing?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. On my Origin it states that its processing, does this mean it has been paid for and that vpn will work?
