What do we think of the sound effects?

We've all seen the videos, enough to hear the sound effects. I think DAO still has my favorite, sounds were still best in that game. Blunt weapons gave satisfying thuds, swords and daggers did a very painful sounding and realistic slicing sound, spells sounded like they should.

In DA2 there was too many strange sounds, cross-class combos with lightning made the strangest sound. Fireball sounded weak instead the large impressive explosion sound. The high dragon's fireballs sounded more like futuristic ray blasters than fire attacks. Melee attacks with swords caused a noise that didn't at all sound like a sword, more like a weird whacking noise (at least dagger sounds sounded right).

From what I've heard, DAI is an improvement over DA2. But DAO still had the better sounds. Maybe I'll change my mind when the game's sounds are coming out of my actual game and I have my turtle beach headphones on instead of the crappy 5 dollar ones I use at my computer.

...I know, weird thread.

Overall, I think Origins still has the best sound-effects. They're impactful yet not too over-the-top. In battle you hear the clank of swords and shields, not the sssPOW-zoooooooom-PAZZZAR-*lightsaber noise* of special effects. lol

In Inquisition, I played as a dual-wielding rogue, and, although I love the "twin fangs" ability for its effectiveness, I hate the screechy sound-effect that accompanies it. It's like werewolf nails across a chalkboard.

No favorite here, sound effects are good to me in all three games B)

Edit: A sound effect I really like in DAI is the spell Energy Barrage, it sounds fast and hard-hitting.

Pull of the Abyss sounds amazing. It's hard to describe, but it's what I imagine air being sucked into a vacuum sounds like.

I really enjoyed the sound effects in this game.

Edit: Just realized the level of necro in this thread.

Detonating a singularity in ME3 is the best sound effect in all of videogame history.

DA:I has great sound effects as well. Electricity effects are my favorite.

THAT me3 vanguard charge OR nova. My  5.1 hometheater was bursting with joy. Love that bioware since Me3 includes audio compression options in their games.
Audio is as important as graphics in games.

I would argue that DAI had the best sound effects. I played a mage in all three games, and in DAO, the spell casting sounds were OK, but the standard attack sounds were pathetic. Pew, pew, pew indeed. I would much rather have the energetic staff attacks of Inquisition than that ridiculous "pool cue of death" mage staff attack in Origins. In DAI, both the casting sounds and the basic attack sounds were great.

DA2... I don't know what they were thinking, I really don't. I absolutely DESPISED the end-of-combat tire screech. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea?
