How to lead party if you're a 2hander?

So I got to play a little bit last night with EA access.  I made a 2hander warrior.

I was wondering if there was any easy solution to the following.  For really serious fights of course I don't mind pausing and telling Cassandra to go in first.  But a lot of the fights in this game are sort of "trash" mobs that I really don't feel like having to pause and issue commands for.  The fights are easy and quick but with my 2hander Inquisitor I would charge in first...since when you're walking around all the party members follow behind you.  And as a result all of the bad guys would initially attack me and I'd take a fair chunk of damage, which of course doesn't regen between fights, so it is damage I'd rather not be taking.

I guess I'm sort of asking, how to balance my "laziness" of not wanting to control Cassandra or have to pause and issue Cassandra to charge in on every single trash group since there are so many and are otherwise very easy fights.  I'd like to run around as my inquisitor but I don't want to draw all the initial aggro on these trash groups.

Yeah I could do that...but I mean I want to control "me"!

I think I just need to either reroll and become the tank myself, or pick a ranged class.

Aren't there commands like 'Attack my Target'? Think they are on a redial menu.

Send your troops in swing around the flank carve up the taunted enemies.

Based on what was seen on the Tactics vid now posted in the other Spoiler area, you may wish to see if options for Cassandra are available in either Tactics or Behavior might be of help.

If you are that lazy, play it on easy.

I always have played a 2H warrior on my first play through for each DA game so far, and it will be no difference in this iteration. The tactics are different this time around as we know, but there are some basic ideas you can take into account. I still take a Shield Warrior and sort of let that warrior handle the main group, or giving that person orders to engage and taunt, which you can still do in this game. I usually run with a combination of Rogue/Mage and usually have them targeting the target of the shield warrior. That gives my main character the option to respond however it needs to be done.

You can play a 2hander that uses most or all of the Vanguard tree.  It could probably work well enough, depending on what other specs you take.

My 2hander is going mainly Battlemaster/Champion I think. Cass and are are gonna shape that battlefield and allwo the dps backline to bring the pain. Oh yes.

This is no different than any other party-RPG. If you're not the best class to lead then you shouldn't. Often the best leader is an invisible rogue both for traps and to scout and arrange people as needed. If you're not using such then the tank should be close enough to do the job. Generally I find myself micromanaging the mage the most in any given group both for their vulnerability and ability to control the battlefield, while swiching to my character when I can (if I'm not a mage).

If you're not into tactics and want more real-time combat, you might want to play on easy as was suggested.

Mike showed this off on his prologue play. You just open the radial and say 'Attack My Target' then boom! Off Cass goes.

Well that would seem to be what OP was looking for. Another satisfied customer :)
