Maybe its only me but now that DAI is open world i want more. I want dungeons with pit traps and history behind the dungeon. I want cities like solitude and options to steal gold /items if im not a thief. I want summons and shapeshifting back. I want more non combat spells such as mind control/detect life/levitate etc i want some skyrim hair choices(no excuse). I want scrolls and not to have a dagger be useless for 2-3 classes. I want some of what was taken away in DAO! I want what i had in 2009 and more

Well i still have no idea why people love TES so much. Without mods i don't think it is a real game, just a useable blueprint that could be made to something.
I had some fun with Fallout 3 on the other hand. I think the complete lackluster fighting system killed skyrim (or TES) for me. In fallout i at least had to aim.
BTW : are there really good mods for the fighting system? Maybe i try Skyrim once more (have to kill time until 20.11)

This topic is as overcooked as a poor masterchef dish it's that one person that won't leave the boardroom when Lord Alan Sugar says "you're Fired"

I'm still amazed how many people fell for the flashy graphics of Skyrim. If it wasn't for the modding community, it would be a worthless POS. Still glad I skipped that game, while I did play and enjoy the previous TES games.
Well, if the game causes you so much anger and resentment, I'm glad you skipped Skyrim too. I can only imagine the rant we would have gotten if you were "tricked" into buying it. lol
Anyway, this topic has been pretty much beat to death. They're two very different types of RPG's and it's not really fair to compare them to determine which is the best type. That's going to be left up to personal preference.
I personally like both open world type games like Skyrim and story focused ones like DA. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Even trying to compare the Witcher series to the Dragon Age series has issues as they are different kinds of RPGs.
Yet those who do are everywhere in other websites. I try to ignore but high encounter rate makes me think how a group of people can reach that level of superiority complex is too weird.

He did qualify his statement with "for me", so he's clearly speaking based on personal preferences. I hope DAI has very little in common with Skyrim, but I have a nasty feeling it's going to be more like Skyrim than Origins.

Skyrim didn't work for me because I played it on a PS3 and was lied to by Bethesda.
So yeah, I have no love for that buggy garbage or the lying scumbag company behind it

I was really impressed with Skyrim...maybe because I haven't followed the series before and it was my first real open world game.
Exploration was great, lore was A+ and the most amazing part is that most of the billions of quests felt interesting....
Until the main story. That's when it went down for me. Alduin felt just about every other dragon I've face and there was no visible impact in the world after it was over.
So overall great game but if you are looking for storytelling interesting characters (or characters at all) and tactics this isn't the game for you.
Same goes for DA and people who are looking for fast paced action and buildin one man armies

What's funny is Bioware says that yet I see more Dark Souls and TW2 influences then Skyrim.
You would think they were influenced by those two since they are also amping the difficulty up to try to make a complex combat, like both of those games have done.
I mean skyrim isn't the only game with an Open World.

Two totally different types of games.
I enjoy them both for different reasons. Both let me play male or female characters which is a plus. BioWare, I love the characters they bring to the game and story. Skyrim I have fun wondering around and see whats over the next hill, killing anything that attacks me, exploring whether I"m on the 360 or the pc, I have fun with Skyrim. Not interested in their graphics that much, but I love the be a bard mod.
I'm not sure I'll ever finish Skyrim, but I'll be playing it for years. I'm hoping I play DAI for years also and I will finish it.

The 3 games i played the most last generation were skyrim, origins and da2. I put over 300 hours into skyrim and just dont really get all the love it receives when compared to DA. Yea i know its cool to be able to go anywhere and do whatever the ____ you want but thats the only appeal to me. 3 years later i dont remember a single character in that entire game. Dont remember the story or plot whereas I remember everything DA extremely well. The characters story and lore i might remember a long time from now. Its not just the story but i love da gameplay more than skyrim also. The conversation system is way better also i mean i could kill the skyrim emperor and nobody would even notice whatsoever. The wide open world is the only thing i can remember having any huge appeal. Just my opinion but bioware way better at making rpgs than bethesda. Am i wrong?
I don't believe that you put 300 hrs into Skyrim and don't remember anything about it

The more RPG's the better. I love Skyrim and Dragon Age games. They scratch different itches for as well which is really nice I think. I've played more hours in DA:O though ... in fact I am currently replaying it and having an AMAZING time.

I love both Skyrim and Dragon age , both are absolutely fantastic game (And to anyone who says Skyrim is a PoS/Crap game , that's your opinion but frankly imo you couldn't be more wrong)
A few tidbits why both games are great / reasons I love'em.
Dragon Age - Story/Characters/Lore , combat didn't bother me like it did for other people (Da2 on the other hand I think could have been much better) , excellent replay-ability. Tactics/Tactical camera i love using and having access to , having a real party at all times is great where as in Skyrim you can only have 1 follower (unless you mod which i do so i can have up to 5 , Adjust difficulty accordingly so its not face roll its not the same as Dragon age with banter n such but still fun none the less)
Skyrim - Large open world , some fantastic characters imo , equally amount of forgettable ones too , I enjoy the open ended class system where you can build what you like , combat is fun. Modding lets you almost change every aspect of the game to fit your desire or to improve things (can't go in depth here id be writing a small book on all my mods and why i use'em) Like dragon age it has a good story not as good as DA imo , the Lore in TES perhaps to me is a bit more interesting cause of how crazy some of it is. And Amazing replay-ability
And there we go , small bit of info on why BOTH games are fantastic , but really shouldn't be in a Verses , they are completely different style RPG's.
