Hyped up on DA:I

I've never played origins but I did play (and loved) dragon age II. The keep is a cool feature but I don't think it necessarily gave a ton of context for the decisions made throughout origins. I tried to do my best to make informed decisions but I really have no clue if they play out in a "renegade" or "paragon" fashion. How much do you guys think the decisions of the first game will play into inquisition? Do you think they will be minor nods to past actions or have actual plot changing impact? If so, what are the most "noble" choices you can make throughout origins?
No matter what, I already know I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this game. It's got all the hooks I look for in an rpg despite not knowing a ton about the universe I will be spending hundreds of hours in. I'm excited for Tuesday. Now I just have to find a away to play inquisition and far cry 4 at the same time!

I'd just google the choices in the Keep for Orgins to see which one you'd like to go with.
However, I strongly recommend playing Orgins before Inquisition. You'll enjoy it more and have better context into what's going on.

I thought about that but everyone i asked said it was a 100+ story so that ship has has sailed. Can't bang out 100 hours of new content in under a week. Not when there's so much other things to play. Not to mention I'm sort of a completionist so that 100 hour story would definitely be magnified. It would be 2015 before I was ready for inquisition lol.

It won't take that long, more around the 60 hour mark I believe if you were a doing a "full" run through.
Up to you though. It's like watching/reading LOTR Two Towers and Return of the King without the Fellowship of the Ring.

I might be wrong but the little I know about the game I think playing DA 2 is more important than DA:O to better develop your opinions and emotions on the mage/templar war. DA:O has added insight about magic --good and bad.
I think the primary reason to play DA:O (prior to this game) is to be more emotionally invested in some of the returning characters. I played the game 5 X by the time I gave into Morrigan's proposal for instance and that's the game state I'm going to use, for ill or good.
There is a good lore video on youtube. If I find it I'll put it here.

Right there with you re: the hype!
A lot of Origins decisions are somewhat complex, grey and personal based on what *you* think is honorable. And no, neither DA:2 or the keep do give you a lot of context. The wiki+youtube are no doubt places you know to go to see decisions play out, although nothing beats making them yourself.
I don't know how much of an impact the decisions will have. I feel it's quite likely they'll play out in closing off some options, and/or weaking or strengthening different factions. With DA:2 as an example (*spoiler*), if Hawke supported the mages perhaps their faction will be stronger in DA:I, & the templars weaker. And decisions could play out like in ME2 *spoiler* with whether you save Maleon's data having quite an impact in your options in ME3.
Just my guess.
p.s DA:O took me around 70 hours I think? I'm no completionist though - friend of mine is 150 hours in & not yet done, but I think that's at the extreme end. If you just want to get through the story in time for DA:I, there are a few different mods that allow you to avoid combat.
That's tempting but I might have to go the YouTube route. I run a clan and have to get my guys set up on advanced warfare before I disappear down the dragon age/farcry rabbit hole. The whole skipping combat thing seems ideal for getting getting the story without having to deal with time consuming combat (I heard that the combat was very clunky on origins anyway) sadly, I'm a console gamer so no mods available on that front (plus, I wouldn't get any trophies). Really weighing my options here. Since its bioware I'm sure some of the decisions will have a decent impact on the game but on the other hand, is 70 hours of rushing through a game worth the changes that would be made in inquisition?
Hmmmmmmm

Here ya go. This is pretty good (if you can forgive the guy for calling Cassandra a name -- which to me was quite unnecessary) oops wrong video, I'm still looking for that one.
This is a long version with actual gameplay, divided into several parts. Good but perhaps too much coverage on things that don't matter.

I found this article today and it'll definitely help someone like myself who hasn't played origins and/or DA2.
@ janddran:thanks for the video. It was very helpful and provided additional insight.
