Woah, that Varric thing is dark!
...I love it. My evil playthrough is probably going to come second instead of third to see all the bad stuff that can happen.
For people who romanced Anders..
Spoiler
I read that
Don't know if that's really the case though. Maybe that's why that happens?

-If your Hawke sided with the mages then the Templars will be executing him
-If your hawke sided with the templars the mages will be executing him.
-If Varric was friends with Hawke and you let the templars/mages execute him when you go on the rescue mission then he will be super pissed and leave the inquisition.

Yeah I'm going to need sources for that Varric thing, it makes sense but it seems very extreme.

That seems absolutely insane, if true. More so that a choice I can barely even remember occurring in DA2 would end up being some huge consequence you can't really avoid based on your actions in Inquisition.
On one hand, that's amazing and hat's off to BioWare if that's true. But it also seems completely bizarre and absurd that they'd make that one barely memorable choice be the one to wind up having radical consequences game to game. Huh.

Guess they took all the "My choices don't matter!!!!" complaining a little too serious

It might not be a choice you remember well, but it still should have consequences since all the other characters we knew who were in (prolonged) close contact with red lyrium went crazy.

LMAO at all the people running back to the Keep to change Varric. In what world did you think giving him a piece of the idol that turned Meredith into ... shiiit I don't even know... was a good idea?
So much for other ppl rolling with the punches. At least I'll take solace in knowing I made the right choice in regards to Varric so that when the consequence to a wrong choice comes around I'll feel less like feces.

And here I thought that If you were to Give Varric that it would be the key to something down the line like the Krogan genetic stuff in ME2/ME3 but DAMN! that.. that is brutal.

1) Morrigan >>>>>>>> Merrill
2) I can't believe people are taking that post seriously. Killing someone just because is not Morrigan's style.

I kind of figured something bad would happen, but I kept telling myself it wouldn't go that far if you let Varric keep the shard. I was clearly lying to myself. Glad to know this now.
Any other juicy tidbits on how are past decisions affect the game?

I honestly let him keep it because it was a fairly small piece and I thought there might be an option later in the game to have it tested out by Orsino or someone to get some info on red lyrium, haha.

I did have one playthrough where I let him keep it saying to myself "Look Varric a chunk of your brother, here you keep it as a reminder to not cross me"

1) I respectfully disagree.1) Morrigan >>>>>>>> Merrill
2) I can't believe people are taking that post seriously. Killing someone just because is not Morrigan's style.
2) I do agree it sounds ridiculous but maybe people just really like the thought of Morrigan being Bloody Mary.
